Easthampton, Massachusetts is a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 10,895 at the 2010 census. Easthampton is home to the Samuel Adams Brewery and many other businesses. Ammunition production began in the town in 1812, and it continues to play a significant role in its economy today. The first ammunition factory in Easthampton was built on Main Street. It produced three types of rounds: shot shells for hunting game, rifle shot balls for shotguns and pistols, and cannonball rounds used by the British military. In 1836, another ammunition factory was built on Broadway Avenue. It continued producing round after round until 1959 when it closed down due to competition from more efficient machines. Ammunition production has declined throughout much of recent history because of increased competition from other industries such as plastics manufacturing and textiles. However, this decline has been halted since the early 21st century by a renewed interest in antique firearms and ammunition Manufacturing – particularly those made specifically for target shooting or long range shooting – which has led to an increase in demand for these products both online and offline. In 1865, an addition to the shooting range allowed for firing at targets out to a distance of fifty yards. In 1898, a new rifle range opened with one thousand rounds of ammunition. In 1934, the town built its own water tower to provide drinking water for residents. Today, Easthampton is home to several businesses that offer ammunition products and services including two gunsmiths who repair firearms; two rifle ranges; and three ammo storage facilities.

In 1723, John Adams moved from Newbury to Easthampton after his father's death and became an important figure during the American Revolution. He served as president of the United States from 1797-1800 and also authored two books about life in America. After his death, his son Samuel Adams took over running theAdams family estate which includes Amherst College and a number of other businesses and services that continue to this day. In 1835, the first post office opened in Easthampton with David Bickford as supervisor In 1865, Ayer & Myers started manufacturing cigars here In 1892, Eliot White opened a grocery store on Main Street which became one of Massachusetts' leading retailers In 1907, baseball superstar Babe Ruth made his debut at Amherst College against Yale University . The game went into extra innings but Ruth won by forfeit ..... Finally on October 5 (the date) 1961 when Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling hit home run off then manager Tom Seaver giving Boston their only win over Philadelphia Phillies at Fenway Park ............... Easthampton is part of the Boston-New York-Bridgeport metropolitan area. Easthampton's rich history can be traced back to 1636 when John Eliot founded the town of Northborough on his farm in present-day Burlington County. In 1777, as part of the Great Awakening, Easthampton joined with other towns in Berkshires to form the new Colony of Massachusetts Bay. The town's first minister was Rev. Nathaniel Eaton and its first courthouse was built in 1781 on what is now East Main Street. The town received its charter from the General Court on January 8, 1824 and became an incorporated village on December 15 of that year. The community experienced a period of prosperity during the early 20th century thanks to heavy industry such as shoe manufacturing and papermaking; however, this prosperity ended after World War II when prices for these goods plunged due to rationing by America's wartime allies.
