There are 454 households out of which 38 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them,[citation needed] 52 percent are married couples living together, 9 percent have a female householder with no husband present, and 31 percent are non-families.[citation needed] 24 percent are active workers who do not need assistance with daily activities including caring for children or seniors but can perform some basic tasks such as shopping and cooking due to their disability,[citation needed] while another 34 percent include individuals 55 years old and older who can no longer work because they suffer from physical limitations that prevent them from performing some common tasks such as walking

On July 1st, 1835, Chicopee became a town with a population of 508 people. On November 3rd 1866, ChicopEE incorporation as an unincorporated community came to an end when it merged with Arlington Heights to form Arlington Heights-ChicopEE Township
