Castor oil has been shown not only to improve gripping power but also protect against corrosion by reducing surface tension between particles in solution[2]. Other popular types include Lubri-Covy® which consists essentially of silicone material dispersed throughout a hydrocarbon basestock liquefied under high pressure into an emulsion capable of self coating pistols without any solvent addition[1], Febreze Clean & Clear Pistol Oils designed specifically for both indoor use and outdoor storage,[3] Wacoal's "Lubricant For All" line consisting primarily of natural mineral spirits[4], Krylon's "Motor Oil" series,[5] Smith & Wesson's "Pistol Lube" line.[6] In general, these products present three basic categories: solids/gels/semi-solid solutions; liquids/lubricants/(oils); gels/(solids)/semi-solid solutions/. Chelsea was first settled by English settlers in 1636 and became part of Middlesex County in 1803. In 1834, Chelsea lost its charter as a town to West Newbury. In 1906 it regained its charter as a village and remains one today. The history of Chelsea begins with the founding of the first permanent English settlement in what is now Middlesex County by Adam Smith and his family in 1636. They named their new township after their home county of Cambridge, England. Although the original settlers were primarily fishermen and coastguards looking for landing sites for supplies on the New England Coast during this early period, they soon began to buildWelcome Huts (now houses) on Long Island Sound where they could stay dry while fishing or patrolling for pirates or other dangers near the mainland shoreline. In 1803 when Boston City limits were set up following its incorporation as a city within Massachusetts under Governor John Quincy Adams, Chelsea lost its charter as an incorporated town to West Newbury but regained it in 1906 when it became a village under then Mayor Harry Sanger. After becoming part of Middlesex County in 1924 upon amalgamation with Newton,[1] Chelsea experienced rapid growth due to suburbanization which began taking place throughout Essex County beginning in WW II[2][3]. This migration transformed much of rural Essex into sections of large towns with high-density housing developments paralleling Route 128 outside Boston; these developments continued until well into the 21st century.[4] By 1990 there were over 100 buildings that date back more than 200 years built along Route 128 on what had once been farmland bordering Arlington Cemetery[5][6]. Today there are over 10 thousand residents living within walking distance of most essential services including schools (including two independent high schools), libraries/museums/theaters/ churches/dormitories etc., shopping malls with multiplexes and full service restaurants located all around downtown core; commuter rail service available from Fenway Park Station providing access to both Boston University and Harvard University; five hospitals including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston), Brigham & Women’s Hospital (Boston), Doctors Hospital (Boston), Lenox Hill Hospital (= Masonic Lodge Hall)[7]and UMass Memorial Medical School [8], four public parks totaling over 12 acres including Central Park Flower Market[]9], several miles worth of bikepaths()10[]11], some excellent hiking trails []12], world-renowned golf courses such as Blackstone Country Club ()13], several dozen small businesses []14])15]16]17], world-class education institutions like Northeastern University (), Brandeis Univ., Amherst College (), Emerson College (), Tufts Univ., MIT Press ().
In 1565, the area that is now Chelsea was part of the Mayflower Compact. The land was given to John Winthrop by Massachusets Governor Sir Edmund Andros. In 1630, when Stamford and Chelsea were combined into one town, they had a population of only 10 people. However, in 1764, Stamford became the first town in Connecticut to have a government with representation by an elected assembly.
