From 1984-1992, Boker & Tarrant produced a variety of revolver holsters under the name “Taurus”Holster Corporation’s manufacturing operations ceased due to economic conditions during this time period but many products remain still extant including some models now produced by Alaskan Outfitters NRA Ltd.. Agawam is a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 2,817 at the 2010 census. The town was formed in 1837 from part of the former towns of Easthampton and Westborough. It is located on the border of Hampshire and Berkshire counties. The first people to live in what is now Agawam were the Algonquians who populated the area for centuries before they died out around 1000 AD. There are references to them both from Native American Legends as well as European Sources. In 1636, Englishman John Winthrop came ashore on Long Island Sound and saw evidence of an Algonquin village called Nausetka which he named for his home town of Nantucket in Massachusetts (now Nahant). He also noted that there were baskets everywhere “which I supposed must be made by hand”- this confirms that these people did use manual labor in their everyday lives back then! In 1776, during the Boston Tea Party, some British soldiers burned down two houses belonging to Nathaniel Eaton & his family because they refused to give up theirugar shipment without a permit. This event started what is known as "The Eaton Incident." Eaton went into hiding until after it had calmed down and he received a pardon from King George III. Aftermath, a brick wall was built around Agawamtown to remember those who lost their homes during that time period. In 1837,Agawam became part of Easthampton when it split off from Westborough following a referendum vote by its citizens. At this time, Easthampton had about 4500 residents while Agawam had only 1200 residents! In 1845/46 there was another referendum where residents voted to move 100% away from Manchester due to concerns over fire insurance issues; however this didn't happen and no buildings were moved anywhere! A total of 10 businesses closed throughout the 1800s due mainly to lack of customers or competition from larger towns such as Manchester or Amherst (both located within 5 miles radius). However starting in 1906 when electrical service began coming through Amherst instead ofManchester services providers telecommunications companies decided not to build new lines into rural villages like Agawam so many businesses closed again making way for small momand pop stores etc., with one notable exception being Jardine's Pharmacy which continued doing business even aftermoving closer TO Amherst ! By 1957 all but three businesses still open today exept One Stop Drug Mart which closed its doors back in 1984 !! Finally local telephone provider MCI took over providing long distance service locally until deregulation ended almost 30 years later !! During much of the 20th century property values kept dropping due largelyto farming changes such as removing trees or plowing fields under; meanwhile transportation became more expensive with automobiles becoming more accessible especially when Routes 128 & 89 were opened up!. Also during this time farmers turned increasingly towards mechanization with steam powered tools beginning arriving here starting around 1910 followed by electric tools!! Christmas parties used to take place at homes between December 25-27 inclusive most notably at Mrs McCloskey's house where large quantities would be decorated including tree lights & candy canes ..... however all bird feeders stopped working cuz we couldn't afford enough oil!!! Despite these challenges many families still hosted large potlucks each year until quite recently !! Many things have changed since then including wavesof immigrants coming here during World War II bringing new technologies (like radar) along with them .... however most significant has been rapid growth attendant upon Anheuser Busch Brewery opening nearby in 1978 creating lots of jobs directly & indirectly ...... Agawam is a town in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 9,846 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to visit Agawam were the Pilgrims in 1620. The town was incorporated on July 1, 1798. It was named for General John Adams, First President of the United States and one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The town was purchased by Captain John Smith from the native Wampanoag tribe in 1639 and served as his hunting ground until 1642 when he sold it to Roger Williams who renamed it Providence Plantation. In 1792, Congress passed an act creating a new county within Suffolk County and Agawam became part of that county. On February 14, 1802, a fire destroyed most of Agawam without loss or damage to its buildings; this event is generally considered to be the first arson in Boston. The first school in Agawam was built on South Main Street near where present-day Market Street meets Centre Street. There were no schools until 1814 when a schoolhouse (now called Park Avenue School) was built next door to what is now Webster Middle School on Park Avenue North. A second school building (now known as North Central High School) also stood nearby before being demolished in 1969 because it had become too small for its original students and staff; replaced instead by Webster Middle School's current building which opened in 1968. In 1917 the New England Telephone Company established service through Agawam with two stations: Station KA2YJ and Station KA2ZT which both used short wave radios; these facilities remain operational today providing communications services to local businesses and residents throughouthamiltonshirerespectively
