Westminster is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 14,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Baltimore–Washington metropolitan area. Westminster is home to Brown Middle School and Westminster High School which are both located in the town center. The first settlers of what would become Westminster were Dutch Reformed Christians who arrived in 1684. They named their community after King James II of England who had just been crowned as a prince of Wales on Christmas Day that year. The name "Westminster" was not used until 1702 when it was spelled "Winchester." In 1824, the post office moved from Winchester to Westminister because that location offered more room for growth and larger buildings than did Winchester which was then located within the limits of Prince George's County. In 1873, Mary Ann Kneeland donated land to make apublic school district and named it Westminster School District No. 1 after her hometown of Weston, Massachusetts where she also taught school for many years before moving to Maryland in 1865 to be nearer her family. She also endowed a scholarship fund at Westminster School District No. 1 so that students could attend college or other higher education opportunities if they choose to do so during their careers instead of working day and night inside the schools themselves (a common practice back then). - Over time various residents have gifted land or money towards building new schools or repairing old ones making Westminster one of America's most appreciate school districts by providing ample funding for all types of educational needs without any strings attached! When I walk through my neighborhood now (10 blocks east) I can see my high school diploma hanging on a wall next to an American flag - this district has done something special! My classmates and I still talk about our days studying here! And we wouldn't have it any other way either... In 1925, EarMuff Company introduced its own design for an airtight connection between ears called the Red Plug system. In 1937, EarMuff Company released its flagship product which became known simply as "Earmuff". The Earmuff consisted of two pieces: one piece fit into your hair behind your neck; another piece covered your entire face except your eyes - this required some extra care when wearing it because it needed to be worn correctly so that it did not touch your skin! However, thisEarMuff was very successful and remains popular even 50 years later!

Westminster, Maryland was founded in 1781 as a trading post called Fort George on the Patuxent River. The town grew quickly and by 1814 had become an important stop on the Underground Railroad. In 1846, Westminster became the capital of Maryland and remains its primary city to this day. The center of town is home to two large churches – one from the Colonial period and one from the Gothic Revival style developed in Britain during the 1800s. Other notable buildings in downtown include the State Capitol Building, which was built in 1849 and has been used for both state government and national ceremonies; the Library of Congress Building; and several commercial blocks including One Metropolitan Plaza, which is home to several large banks and retail businesses.
In 1790, the first Americanetsy was born in Westminster, Maryland. John Brown and his men fought against the British during the American Revolution, and they were also responsible for starting the town's first business. The townspeople quickly started to grow prosperous from their businesses, and by 1820, Westminster had a population of over 100 people. In 1846, Westminster became a part of Washington County and was renamed "Westminster." In 1924, it became an incorporated city.
