Kintyre is considered to be the "Father of modern Marylandpolitics". He served as Governor of Maryland from 1827 to 1830 and then as Senator from MD from 1835 to 1847 before becoming Speaker of the House in 1850 and again from 1853 to 1861; Johnson is also known for his role in making Maryland an independent country after its admission into the Union on November 16, 1865. He served two terms as President of the United States (1828-29 and 1840-41) before being elected as governor in 1849; he resigned due to term limits set by John Quincy Adams which prevented him from running for re-election that year. Pickford is most famous for her performance in "The Mikado" musical stage production which aired on Broadway between 1935 and 1938; she also appeared with other MGM productions such as "The Merry Widow" (1936) and "The Sound Of Silence" (1945).
