Rockville, Maryland is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. It was founded in 1792 by John Smith and stands on the border of Frederick and Montgomery Counties. The population was 21,354 as of the 2010 census. The Rockville Arsenal was established in 1814 and closed in 1945. The first optical instruments were used to view nature at night by men such as James Cook who named the area "King's Bench" because he could see things that others could not. Cook also used the equipment to study stars and planets which helped him develop astronomical knowledge that would be instrumental in his voyages Voyage of Discovery (1778-1779). In 1792, John Smith founded Rockville for $1 per acre (ppp). At its peak during the 1800s it had over 100 residents. In 1814, Rockville Arsenal became one of six U.S. arsenals authorized by Congress to produce cannons annually through a law passed in response to Ft Worth’s cannonade against Fort Vancouver on April 14th, 1813. The arsenal produced 1/3 of all American cannon between 1821-1845 inclusive; however part of its production capacity went undeveloped due to financial difficulties caused by war fever and other economic factors including Panic of 1837-38....

By 1838 it had become an important stop on the Potomac River Railway which connected Washington D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia. In 1839 John Nicholson founded what became known as Nicholson's Mills; this milling business continued until 1840 when it merged with those of Nicholas Day & Son to form Nicholson-Day & Co.. In 1847–48 Robert Ewell built a gristmill on Mill Creek near present day Bowie Street in Upper Rockville for grinding corn cobs into flour which he sold to customers in nearby towns such as Cumberland Junction and Fredericktown. He named his mill "Ewell's Mills" after himself and donated some acreage adjacent to it (now Morningside Heights) to build a school house and another store building (now part of Stonestreet Middle School). This gristmill operated until 1865 when it was replaced by one owned by Isaac Pappoe which continued in operation until 1911 when it was bought by J H Freyert who renamed it The Star Mill Company Limited Partnered with Lord Liverpool’s Brewery Ltd.. The mill stopped production in 1918 but still stands today as a well-preserved example of early 20th century industrial architecture in Rockville center."

In 1978, Dennis Kozloff developed a new type of contact lens called PRO-1 which helped reduce this problem. PRO-1 featured an inner lens made out of clear plastic that showed images correctly irrespective of how your eye looked while wearing it so you could stay focused while working or playing video games etc.) Unfortunately, PRO-1 did not take off like Kozloff hoped and fell out of favor shortly afterward due primarily to cost concerns (PRO-1 typically retailed for around $100 per pair). By 1800, it had a population of over 2,000 people. In 1802, Rockville became one of five towns located within Fredericktown Township (later renamed Annapolis Township) along with Bowie and Olney. In 1827, following the organization of Prince George's County into two separate jurisdictions – Eastern District and Western District – Rockville became part of Eastern District. On July 1, 1830, it formally merged with Western District to form what is now Montgomery County. During World War II (1939-1945), Rockville played an important role in supporting military efforts in Europe through its production of munitions and foodstuff. It also played a significant role in developing Allied airfields near Northern Virginia as well as providing housing for troops during their stay at Camp Anacostia before they were transported south to concentration camps near Buchenwald and Majdanek respectively.
