On November 3, 1835, it became a town. The original courthouse burned down on October 16th of that year and replaced by a new one but the old jail still stands today across from the modern day high school building which houses the town library and several other businesses One of the earliest businesses in Easton was Isaac Armstrong’s Fruits & Vegetables store which opened on May 1st 1836 just east of Main Street In 1865, James Henson built his lumber business here which continued to be successful until it merged with another company two years later also in 1865 saw construction begin on what is now known as “Henson Park” or simply “Henson Park” – an area that would become one of the most popular areas for residential development in Easton due to its tranquil setting and easy access to everything that made life fun such as shopping malls and parks located nearby

Eatonville was first settled by European colonists in 1719 as part of Charles Towne on the Potomac River near present-day Arlington, Virginia. In 1783, General Jamesoga Tarleton burned Eatonville to clear the way for his march on Washington D.C.. The town's loss stung many local farmers who had invested their money in land grants from Lord Dunmore and others during the colonial period. On October 10, 1784, Eatonville was renamed "Easton" after Major General John Easton (1739-1812) who had helped lead British forces against American independence troops at Saratoga Creek on September 13th that year while serving with Lord Cornwallis' army under General Jeffrey Amherst In 1814, Easton became a county seat of Prince George's County when it was created from parts of Frederick County. After King George III made Maryland into a commonwealth in 1828, Congress passed an act transferring all county seats to counties within each state except Rhode Island which retained its separate system until 1885 when all states were combined under one government system known as the United States federal government
Easton was founded in 1795 by Captain John Easton. It was named after Capt. John Easton, an early settler in the area. The town grew rapidly and by 1820 it had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1827, Easton became the capital of Prince Edward County and remained so until 1881 when it merged with Frederick COUNTY to form Maryland.
