The history of airguns in Cambridge, Maryland can be traced back to the early 1800s. In 1807, John Morse and his brother Eli founded The Arsenal on the corner of High Street and Gunpowder Street in what is now known as the Morse House Building. The Arsenal was one of the first gun ranges in North America and it remains a popular tourist destination today. It was here that John Morse developed his famous airgun design, which he called the “Morse Rifle”. In 1827, Henry Martini started manufacturing firearms in Cambridge. His company became known for producing quality rifles and shotguns. Martini also produced a number of airguns over the years. One of these guns, the CVE-2A, became very successful and helped establish Martini as a leading airgun manufacturer in North America. Cambridge, Maryland is a town in Howard County, Maryland, United States. The population was 13,737 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the ancient English settlement of Cambridgeshire which was located there before the area became part of Maryland. The first settlers in what is now Cambridge were Presbyterian missionaries who came to America in 1683. They built a log cabin on the edge of present-day Cambridge and named it after their home country, Scotland. In 1781, when Baltimore and Calvert County were created as separate counties, Cambridge was moved to Howard County and renamed after its new county seat – Baltimore. Boston Tea Party members arrived in Cambridge on March 24th, 1773 with eight chests of tea that they had brought overland from Boston. They planted tea bushes near what is today's Main Street and began to harvest tea on April 14th. On May 5th they made their way back upriver to Harper's Ferry where they unloaded their cargo and set off for Lexington with all eight chests of tea. In 1802 President Thomas Jefferson donated land to make way for what is now Harvard University; MIT followed suit in 1916. Today much of Harvard Square (between Boylston Street and Quincy Market) still stands from when these universities were founded – including an old mill known as Trinity College Chapel which is still used for services today! In 1867 Aberdeen Proving Ground was established just north of present-day downtown Cambridge by order of Ulysses S Grant as partS urveyorof American arms testing during the Reconstruction Era followingCivil War era changes in U.S government structure caused by states' seceding from Unionism . After Aberdeen Proving Ground closed its doors in 1972 it became known as "Harvard Yard".Today most people know about it due to various buildings located within walking distance such as Newton House (home of Harvard’s history department), Adam Clayton Powell Jr.'s house (the first African American elected to Congress from New York) and King’s Chapel (containing parts of HMS Victory). In addition several major thoroughfares such as Quincy Market or North Charles Street contain reminders of past industrial activity including an old creamery complex currently occupied by Amazon Web Services

In 1922, the first airguns were created by Leo F. Chilton and Ishmael S. Hill in their company, The Gunnery Company. This company was based in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and produced three types of airguns- the low power .22 LR model (now known as a centerfire rifle), the high power .380 ACP model (now known as a handgun) and the single shot shotgun type called an airgun pistol. In 1934, Chilton merged his company with Browning Manufacturing Company to create Browning-Chilton Corporation, which continued production of firearms until 1981.
Cambridge, Maryland is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 12,828 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Washington–Baltimore–Arlington metropolitan area. The name Cambridge derives from English settlers who founded the town in 1718 and named it for Cambridge University in England. The first settler in Cambridge was John Mason of Dorchester County and his wife Rebecca Nurse. They built a cabin on what is now Manor Road near present-day South Mills Road. In 1721 they moved to what is now North Mills Road and started to cultivate land around their cabin which they named "Mason's Mill". One year later they bought some additional land around the mill from John Nicholson and erected a new windmill on that site. From this mill they marketed goods such as flour, meal, salt pork, butter and cheese to surrounding farmers. In 1727 James Smith purchased some more land adjacent to the mill from Nicholas Nicholson and began cultivating it also known as "Smith's farm" today's Middlebrook Avenue). He continued marketing goods such as flour, meal, salt pork etc., until he died in 1738 leaving his estate to his two sons James Sr., Jr., and John Jr.. James Sr.'s heirs sold off most of their holdings but kept one acre which became known as "Johnson Hill". In 1802 Daniel Webster & Joel Barbour organized a wagon train through Prince George's County bound for Harpers Ferry with supplies for General Robert Ewell during the American Revolution. On their way back they stopped at Johnson Hill where Webster found a small stream crossing his path so he ordered several men across while he made camp on Lodge road just south of present day Camden Drive (now Chambersburg Pike). This event helped start an agricultural society called Trinity College Farm Society which later donated its land along High Street between Camden Drive and Easton Pike (now Cameron Lane) to be used for agriculture purposes once grammar school opened there in 1852 by Reverend Elijah Whitehead (later Bishop of Baltimore). When Baltimore was ceded by Virginia to America in 1756 it included all of Frederick Town including Cambridge but because much of Frederick Town lay within Montgomery County it wasn't mentioned when Baltimore was acquired by America it remained unincorporated until 1851 when Frederick Town incorporated under the name Alexandria Township because its boundaries coincided more closely with those of Montgomery County than did Arlington Township which had been created from parts of Fairfax County eastwardly annexed into Maryland by Congress pursuant to Act 5 April 1800 (). After years of deliberations among various organizations chartered or formed under the laws of each state within Maryland concerning questions connected with slavery –including meetings held at Annapolis; Senator Nathaniel Lyon’s house; Mr….’s store; between Mr…..and…Mr….. [Hiram] Stevens [of Georgetown], March 1st ultimo 1853 – delegates were selected by ballot amending Constitution Of Maryland v1 §5(a), art 2 pg 182; Laws Of The State Of Maryland Annotated 1861 pgs 6-7
