However, some local businesses survived into the 21st century including ABC Radio (now SiriusXM) which originated from Bowman before moving to its current headquarters near U Street NW in downtownWashington D.C.. Bowie has experienced several economic crashes over the years but has gradually bounced back since 2000 according to Business Journal research reports There have been several attempts by developers to revive downtown areas such as Centennial Plaza & Gateway Station where there are plans for office buildings, apartments/condos, retail space etc., but these have all failed so far despite claims by proponents that this will create jobs In recent years there has been a growing trend towards walkable neighborhoods with parks and bike lanes connecting different parts of town
