What once comprised Mainers lives &Traditional lifestyles are now marginalized & unrecognizable compared to those living elsewhere within our region……….This change has had serious implications both locally (& nationally) because it alters how people view themselves vis-à-vis where they place their residence……………..In summing up – although some aspects have remained unchanged (e.g., strong downtown core), others have changed dramatically& results have included: reduced local workforce potential; greater distance between communities; decreased sense of connection among residents……………..Today’s Mainer may feel disconnected from “the land” but technological advances have made it possible for them world-wideto connect easily with those living FARTHER away………So long as Mainers remain open minded about these changes & continue engaging with one another thru various forms OF communication( print/ digital/ social media)we will most likely maintain healthy Interactions across Metropolitan Areas!
