A red dot sight is an optical device used to aim a rifle or shotgun using a point-of-view view. It consists of a durable, illuminated eyepiece with a viewing window that projects onto the retina of the user, and an attached reticle. The user places their eye within the viewing window, and lines up the reticle against one or more dots on the target. By depressing the trigger, the user aims by aiming at one of these dots on the target and receiving information about how close they are to hitting it based on targeting data sent from the rifle or shotgun's computer.

The red dot sight history in Thibodaux, Louisiana can be traced back to the early 1800s. In that era, people in this area used red dots as sights for their firearms. This was because they were considered to be more accurate than other methods of sighting a firearm.

The town was named for General Pierre-Joseph de Thibodeau, who fought in the American Revolution and helped secure independence for Louisiana from France. In 1881, Thibodaux was annexed by New Orleans and became part of that city's Metairie parish.

Thibodaux, Louisiana is a town located in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 2,584 at the 2010 census. Thibodaux is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Bogalusa metropolitan area. The town was founded by Frenchmen in 1768 as a post on the mouth of the Assumption River. It became an agricultural center after being granted a land grant by King Westphalia in 1815. In 1847, Thibodaux become the capital of Jefferson Parish and was designated as the seat of government for all parish lands except Metairie and Lafitte City which were placed under the jurisdiction of other parishes. The city limits were expanded to include most of Lafitte City when it annexed from Thibodaux in 1925. In 1930, white flight from New Orleans began to increase due to competition from Interstate 10 and other development opportunities within easy reach of downtown New Orleans. In response, Mayor Huey P. Long ordered State Senator James Meeks to introduce a bill that would annex Thibodaux into New Orleans proper without its vote or notification; this measure failed but led to Long's recall campaign later that year. By 1935, white flight had stopped entirely and many businesses closed down due to lack of available housing or competition from new arrivals who had arrived since then; some residents moved out during this time period while others took up arms against Governor John Vitter over budgeting issues at state agencies or sought refuge with friends and family outside Baton Rouge during the administration of Govind Ballentine (1938-41). When World War II began in 1939, many local soldiers were drafted into service and many homes were requisitioned for use as military barracks; however few people chose to leave their homes because they did not feel safe returning home after months away from their families/landownership prospects (Lafitte City experienced high levels of poverty during these years)). After Vitter's assassination in November 1941, Attorney General Francis Biddle appointed Jock Mahoney interim governor until new elections could be held; however Mahoney resigned before taking office due to health concerns about carrying out his election promises regarding public works projects throughout Jefferson Parish including plans for building a large dam on Lake Pontchartrain which would have flooded much surrounding district). In December 1941 Biddle named Robert Jolson as temporary governor until new elections could be held which he won with almost 60% of the vote following passage of a special election law providing for such an event should no one be elected governor within three business days following certification by Secretary Of State James Meeks concerning “a vacancy” in either house resulting from death, resignation or disqualification effective June 30th”; finally Rufus King became governor on January 3rd 1942 after balloting among candidates registered with Secretary Of State’s Office finding no one qualified pursuant To Section 6103(a) Of The Louisiana Constitution Which provides That “No person shall hold any office under this state unless he has been duly elected by popular vote…. No person shall hold any office under this state until he qualifies for reelection…. A vacancy occurring prior To June 30th may be filled only through impeachment proceedings brought before either House thereof by two third majorities… provided there are no impediments thereto” When France ceded control over Louisiana back to Spain upon its fall in 1803 she retained title over Natchitoches County which included Thibodaux municipality between Appomattox Court House onthe east sideofthe river St Bernard Giraud near Chalmetteonthe west sideofthe river Bayou TecheacrossBayou d'ItonnearChalmetteonthe north shoreoftheriver Opelousasand Van Nuys near BeaumonttowardsPort Lavacainformationwasreceivedby AmericansatthattimeaboutanSpanishtown situetotheeastofNatchitochescountywhither USMilitary Forceshadtransferredtroops duringserpenturingWorldWar I).
