In 1976, the company introduced the A-2 which was larger and had six wheels for better stability when moving around difficult terrain. Thibodaux, Louisiana is a town in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 7,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New Orleans metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1836 by General David Dixon and named for his friend and patron saint, St. Thibodeau. The first courthouse in Thibodaux was built on Market Street in 1838. The first school in Thibodaux was built on what is now the corner of Elm and Main Streets in 1846. In 1860, the first train to travel through Thibodaux arrived from New Orleans railway station; it carried goods destined for Ville Platte (now Springfield), Missouri. In 1874, Pierre Lacroix designed a new courthouse that replaced the original courthouse burned down earlier that year by a conflagration caused by a locomotive engine running off its track outside of town Limits while stopped at a depot near Thibodaux Depot intersection. The new courthouse sat on land donated by Mrs. Sarah Auld who lived across the street from it until her death in 1913; after her death, her heirs sold off most of her property to help pay for construction of the new courthouse which finally opened its doors to the public on October 15th, 1907. On November 3rd 1898 another large fire broke out just east of town limits – this time due to an arsonist setting fire to rural mailboxes located near Roberval Road and Browning Road; this event led to much speculation as to who could have done such an act given that no one had been arrested or prosecuted for any major arson incidents located within town limits during that particular calendar year up until then! Unfortunately for those living east of town limits during those years there would be more big fires throughout southwest Louisiana thanks again primarily to careless people using open flames as an excuse not To clean up their messes!! Finally getting some measure law enforcement attention here we can thank some good old boys from Baton Rouge who put out some hot tarps & well made handcuffs locals call “Wire Fences” used today when measuring distance between homes & businesses…. still smoking days later I am sure you can see where I am going with this story….. Anyway back around 1905-1907 our fine citizens got serious about cleaning up things & started building proper fencing along all our boundaries including within our own townslimits!!!!! Thank goodness they did because today we are surrounded by dense forests full of hardwood trees making it difficult if not impossiblefor anyone other than federal agents or law enforcement officers with warrants or search warrants to come into our nice little community without being able to clear everyone's pockets first!!!! We also must remember that since so many years ago churches have been built too inside town limits keeping people away from church services……… Nowadays if you want your house cleaned there’s always somebody available but do yourself a favor and hire someone local!!!
