As a result, the Rifle and Pistol Club lost its membership in 1899. However, it continued to operate as a branch of the Louisiana State Militia until 1915. In 1915, the NRA purchased the Slidell Rifle and Pistol Club's assets for $1,000. The NRA relocated the club to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1917. It remained there until 1935 when it moved back to Slidell again and ceased operations altogether.
