Gun magazines have been around since the late 1800s, and Slidell is one of the oldest municipalities in Louisiana. In 1857, an ordinance was passed in Slidell requiring all males over the age of 10 to be registered with the town hall. The ordinance was designed to prevent crime by regulating firearms. In 1907, Slidell voted to prohibit handguns in the municipality. This decision followed a spate of shootings that took place throughout Louisiana at that time. A handgun ban was eventually lifted in 1911, following approval from the state legislature. In 1934, gun magazines were made illegal in Slidell after it became apparent that they were being used to distribute arms illegally. Gun magazine ownership was re-established two years later and continued until 1978 when it was abolished altogether due to new gun laws enacted by then Governor Edwin Edwards.

Slidell is a small town located in the parish of Ascension, Louisiana. The population was 1,532 at the 2010 census and it is the seat of Slidell Parish. The town was founded by African Americans in 1853 and named for Captain John Slidell, an American Revolutionary War hero. It has since become one of the most ethnically diverse communities in Louisiana. The original town was built on a shoal of Saint Bernard River which made navigation difficult and dangerous. However, over time, slidell's founders succeeded in building a wharf on which they could load goods and exports from their plantations to New Orleans. In 1859, they also constructed a schoolhouse and churches. By 1870, Slidell had reached its present size with a courthouse (which still stands), two cotton ginners' mills (now operated as part of the LSU campus), eleven stores/barns/factories (all now defunct), four blacksmith shops (now operated as part of the LSU campus), two churches (one now used as a museum), three schools (grades K-12th grade through college level) and nine dwellings for white residents……………..and one for African Americans………………..sliding downriver until it finally stopped just short of what is now downtown Slidell. In 1865, Captain John Slidell donated land to build what would eventually become LSU's first football stadium: Tiger Stadium Today known as home to both the Tigers football team and coaching staff including Les Miles who played there from 1970-2001 before moving on to Alabama Crimson Tide coaching duties In 1868 when Slidell became "the last stop" on Ulysses S Grant's ill-fated Overland Expedition his troops passed through while en route from Baton Rouge to Cairo he sent someone ashore with this message: "You will find us hereabouts; let us know if you have any trouble getting along without us." A few years later when General Butler reached Bayou Teche after his March 1862 invasion campaign near Alexandria Tarrantville Slidell supplied him with cotton seed meal needed for animal feed so he could cross that river unopposed…………….Slideill prospered during Reconstruction under white rule……….when blacks were allowed intowhite households they set up their own businesses……………………….discrimination against African Americans continued throughout much of this period……………..African Americans began returning to Slidell during World War II but again discrimination prevailed……………many African American veterans first settled in Gulfport before coming back to Slidell during post-war years………………………..Slidell voters chose Republican Congressman Donald Payne for Congress in 1984……………………………in 1990 Earl Long ran for governor but lost due to lack of support……………………………in 1994 Edwin Edwards won re-election as Governor despite being indicted numerous times…………………….........Since 2000 Jean Chatman has been Mayor
There are many different types of magazines in the firearm world. Magnum, .45ACP, 9mm, and .38 Special all have their own specific magazine types. But before we get into that, let's take a look at some general history on magazines. Magazine design went back to 1857 with an early form of the revolver called a revolvers Old Model which had 12 rounds per month. However, it was not until 1868 when Henry Repeating Arms Company began producing what is now known as the Colt revolver that magazine capacity really began to grow rapidly. By 1892 there were over 100 different calibers available for pistols and rifles with 10 rounds per magazine being standard on most firearms by this point. Eventually magazines became so popular that they started to be patented as well (e.g., Winchester’s Model 1903). In 1898 John Browning developed his first handgun and started marketing it under the name “Browning Automatic Pistol” with a 10 round magazine which allowed users to fire up to 15 rounds per minute! The popularity of automatic pistols led to larger magazines becoming standard on most handguns and rifles by about 1911-12 (i.e., semiautomatic pistols became fully automatic after this date). In 1934 Springfield Armory produced its first practical shotgun using an ammunition box which held 20 rounds instead of the then current 8 rounds per box used for shotguns at this time (and incidentally also led to the birth of 7mm Remington Magnum!). So overall there has been quite a change in how firearms are stored over time and how often they can be fired; but essentially each year more rounds are added onto firearms platforms making them even more deadly!

Slidell was founded by a group of French colonists in 1763. The town changed its name to Slidell in 1803, after General James Wilkinson's victory at the Battle of Passyunk Creek. In 1806, Slidell became the capital of Louisiana. The town sustained damage during Hurricane Katrina and other natural disasters in 2005 and 2006. Today, Slidell is an agricultural community with a population of around 10,000.
Slidell was founded in 1819 by General Andrew Jackson and his wife, Rachel. Slidell became a parish in 1827 and an incorporated town in 1849. The first post office was established at Slidell in 1822. In 1860, the city of Slidell was annexed by New Orleans.
