Ruston, Louisiana is a small town in southern Jefferson Parish, La., on the banks of the Mississippi River. The population was 2,869 at the 2010 census. Ruston is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Ruston were French colonists who arrived in 1718 and built Fort de Chartres near present-day Ruston. In 1802, American settlers founded a post office here and by 1820 had erected a courthouse. In 1849, four men working for Jules Dumas started an informer network called "The vigilance committee." They used their influence to get warrants against several prominent citizens, including Samuel Morse (a founder of America's first telegraph line), John Besh (a local banker) and Pee Wee Reese (the son of Louis Reese). In 1861, Confederate General Robert E. Lee passed through this area on his way to join President James Buchanan in Baton Rouge. Confederate General Braxton Bragg passed through this area en route to fight against Union forces at Corinth Junction; he ordered one of his commanders, Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer, to cross the river and attack rustons Trinity Church before withdrawing without fighting—an event which has been called "the most famous cavalry charge in history." On July 6th 1914 during World War I Battle of Belleau Woodruston native Forrest Sherman led an infantry brigade into battle wearing only pants with so that he could leave any spare clothing behind him as he fought across open ground with no cover or artillery support; Sherman's brigade achieving numerical superiority over its opposing force eventually emerged victorious leading many civilians back home with tales of heroism

As revolvers got smaller and more powerful (e.g., .357 magnum revolvers), they became necessary for individuals who desired greater firepower while still keeping their hands safe during shooting sessions or practice sessions (i.e., personal protection). One example where handgun Clothing became necessary was during World War I when soldiers went through GI fatigues which included coveralls designed specifically for carrying handguns outside combat situations; these coveralls prevented exposure to dirt and dust particles that could cause injury if fired upon by enemies (see post WWII era).[1] Even though handguns had become more powerful over time, certain regulations still needed to be followed when using a handgun - specifically holsters must fit snugly onto the person’s body with no excess fabric exposed,[2] rounds cannot fall out of magazines[3], etcetera In addition, limited amount of ammunition was available so manufacturers came up with other methods such as having clips inserted into barrels that allowed reloading.[4] By 1920 gunmen would once again rely on handguns when traveling outfitted with special travel cases/holsters molded specifically for this purpose called “Belt Guns”

After Texas attained independence from Mexico on February 14, 1846, Ruston reverted back to Mexican hands until November 5 when US Colonel John Dickey proclaimed US sovereignty over all of Louisiana following days of violence across that state resulting from a disputed election between Texas' General Sam Houston and Mexican Governor Joaquín Alvarado On October 9, 1861, during Confederate Heartland Raids against Union forces occupying eastern Arkansas and northern Oklahoma Territory (), ruston residents defended their home against an estimated 1,000 Confederate troops led by Confederate Major General JEB Stuart (). On October 15ruston residents joined other local communities in participating in what became known as "the Great Sioux Uprising" (). Following World War IIrustony experienced rapid population growth due to its proximity to several manufacturing plants located throughout southeast Louisiana such as Dow Chemical Company (now Chemical Corporation), ExxonMobil oil Refineries (now ExxonMobilTexaco), Lockheed Martin Missile Plant (now LockheedMartin Space) and Renault-Nissan Automotive Factory ().
