This meant that these firearms quickly lost their popularity in the state and they slowly faded away until they finally disappeared completely from Ruston by the 1960s.

Ruston is a small town in the parish of Bossier City, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. Ruston is located in East Baton Rouge Parish and is part of the New Orleans metropolitan area. The first white person to live in Ruston was John Leland who arrived in 1811 from Kentucky. He founded a trading post on the Red River with his brother-in-law, Alexander Jourdain. In 1824, he married Marie Ducharme and set up a store on Main Street. Together they had six children: John (1825-1912), James (1827-1896), Emile (1829-1900), Lelia (1831-1915), and Eugene (1833-1920). In 1855, Isaac Beaumont opened a grocery store on State Street which soon became known as Beaumont's Grocery Store. In 1865, Hernando Garcia bought the business from Beaumont and continued to run it until his death in 1924. In 1889, Henry Waddell opened an ice cream parlor on State Street which later became Fidelity Dairy Company Incorporated.. The ruston school district was organized in 1912 but did not become operational until 1932 when it merged with other districts in East Baton Rouge Parish to form Ruston Consolidated School District No. 2 In 1930, Ruston developed its own hospital with rooms for 100 beds by then called "Hospital de la Meilleure Recherche" It served as both an isolation unit during World War II and also as a central point for care following Hurricane Katrina that hit the parish two years earlier The hospital closed its doors along with most of Rusty's businesses including its schools after Hurricane Gustav hit five years later causing over $100 million worth of damage Ruston residents rebuilt many of their homes but only about 30% were ever occupied again due to lack of housing availability or interest among developers .ruston has been trying to redevelop some old buildings into mixed use spaces such as apartments or condos for years now however there have been no major developments yet

Ruston is located in the Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, area. The community was founded in 1881 by Frenchmen and Americans who were coming to the area for land. The town grew rapidly due to its location on a river and the natural resources it produced. In 1925, ruston became a city. The first settler in Ruston was François Leduc, who arrived from Canada in 1884. He built his house on the east side of Commerce Street near what is now Park Avenue. By 1886, there were about 20 families living in Ruston. In 1892, Pierre Partridge set up a sawmill on the north bank of the Arkansas River at what is now Canal Road (now I-10). By 1896, there were 10 mills operating in Ruston. In 1905, Edwin Gault organized a lumber company that bought land north of downtown from John Pemberton (the founder of Fort Worth). Gault named his company "Gault & Sons" after himself and his father-in-law John Pemberton Sr.. The company started logging operations along Business Street near present day Elm Street in 1907. The following year, Gault donated land to the city for an elementary school and park; this was followed by other donations over time until ruston had a total of 25 acres for public use! In 1911–12, Gault also donated $5,000 towards construction of schools throughout Ouachita Parish! In 1923–24 alone, Gaults gave away $3300!ruston's rapid growth can be attributed to its strategic location - on a river that provided water power and transportation options as well as natural resources like timber and coal. Additionally, ruston's citizens were active politically which contributed to its success during these years
The town of Ruston, Louisiana was founded by white men in 1885. The town was named after the Ruston River, which flows through the town. The first store in the town was opened in 1887. In 1911, a post office was established inRuston. The first mayor of Ruston was John Purdy.
