Therefore, Captain Pugh moved his magazine to an old warehouse on Chartres Street which he owned. This new location proved more suitable for storing handguns and also allowed him to make better use of his available floor space. The first issue of the New Orleans GUN Magazine was published on January 1st, 1830. As time went on, many other businesses became interested in opening their own gun magazines in order to advantage their business interests or serve as a competition unto other businesses within town limits who didn't want their guns stored next door from their store or office premises! Majestic Arms was first founded by two friends, James Majestic and Samuel Hance. They produced pistol magazines as well as rifle and shotgun mags. In 1912, Majestic Arms merged with another company named "Pioneer Firearms". Pioneer Firearms manufactured pistols and other firearms products until 1976. In the early 1900s a group of men from Baton Rouge came to New Orleans looking for business opportunities. They founded an ammunition store called The Arsenal on Canal Street that served as their headquarters for marketing their product. Ammunition sales at The Arsenal grew rapidly and soon became one of the city's largest businesses. In 1907 they opened a second store on Magazine Street which served as their main production facility for handguns and other firearms products. The Arsenal continued producing high-quality firearms products until it closed its doors in 1978 due to financial difficulties caused by AIDS/HIV funding cuts within the industry at that time. However, many members of The Arsenal's staff continued working at various local gun stores throughout pre-AIDS Louisiana until 1993 when all stores closed down due to new legislation passed by then Governor Edwin Edwards which made it illegal for anyone under 18 years old to possess any type of firearm without a license (an event known locally as "the ban").

On December 25th Napoleon arrived at Baton Rouge where he placed his siege to Fort Moultrie which successfully resisted his attempts at crossing the river without consent from Spain. After two weeks of hard fighting General Jackson sailed upriver with 12500 men under him and landed at Alexandria on January 9th1822 driving out all but 300 Spanish soldiers garrisoned there; this event marksthe end of Spanish presence in New Orleans until 1836 when they were finally expelled by American forces led by General Andrew Jackson (1786-1862)
