Natchitoches is a small town in Louisiana, located about 20 miles north of Baton Rouge. The population was estimated to be around 10,000 in 2008, making it the smallest city in Louisiana by population. Natchitoches was founded in 1790 by French colonists. It became a U.S. territory following the American Civil War and was once known as "The Prairie of the Saints". Today, Natchitoches is a bedroom community for Baton Rouge and its suburbs. Natchitoches began as an agricultural center at the southern tip of what is now Baton Rouge Parish. The area that includes Natchitoches had been used for farming since before European settlers arrived in Louisiana. In 1810, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Jackson traveled through this area and pronounced it "the most fertile spot on earth" for agriculture because of its rich loam soil and abundance of timber. After the Mexican-American War ended in 1848, additional settlers arrived from Canada and Europe, bringing with them their own cultures and ways of life which blended into the local culture over time. By 1860, nearly alligator hunting had become a popular pastime here due to its availability during certain seasons (wintertime). Fishing also played an important role here; numerous large catfish were caught off the coast during this period. During Reconstruction after World War II, Natchitocches became one of many towns affected by social unrest brought on by changes brought about by newly independent America arising out of World War II: increased racism against African Americans led to economic deprivation among white people while increasing opportunities for black people opened up across society; these changes caused tension within communities throughout America as well as within specific towns like Natchitocches where majority white residents continued to live above poverty lines while African Americans labored below them socially and economically

You put your handgun inside of this holster and then wear a belt around your waist that attaches to both ends of the holster (the opposite end from where you would normally carry your knife). Natchitoches is a small city in southwestern Louisiana, United States. The population was 9,868 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Natchitoches Parish. The city was founded by French colonists in 1763 and named for Saint Nicholas of Tolentine. Natchitoches was first settled by native Americans in the early 18th century. In 1762, General James Robertson's forces captured Natchitoches from the local Chickasaw chief, Tecumseh. A white trader and explorer named Pierre Chouteau founded a trading post at Natchitocches in 1772. Captain John Bywater established a military post on the riverbank near present-day Baton Rouge in 1775 during the American Revolutionary War. In 1802, Napoleon Bonaparte moved his army into what is now southeastern Louisiana to attack British forces under Sir Henry Clinton as part of his Grande Armée campaign against Spain and France. Bonaparte's forces destroyed most of New Orleans before reaching Natchitoches along their march through southern Louisiana on November 12, 1800. He renamed it Napoleonic City after himself and set up his headquarters here while supplies were transported overland from New Orleans to Ia Dragahee Creek Valley Campaign (November 25 - December 2). In 1806, Natchitoches became one of two original incorporated settlements in Jefferson Parish when that parish was created from parts of Rapides and Vernon parishes; its boundaries including that between present-day Orleans and Lafourche counties had been expanded about 1/4 mile (1 kilometer) southward since 1802 when those adjacent parishes were detached from Rapides Parish. After several years of struggle over incorporation, which ended with ratification by an election held on January 3, 1809—the first such election held within the newly formed parish—the town became officially incorporated on February 6 following a special meeting called for that purpose by Mayor John Pecquetter Sr., attended by members of both the town council and parish board Seguin Brothers Auctioneers & Real Estate Men LLP." The Napoleonic City charter described its affairs as follows: "Aldermen are elected directly...No person may be alderman more than once...All bills must be passed unanimously so they cannot veto them....Council meetings are open to all who wish to attend without paying...Appeals shall lie only to church court decisions which have not been appealed to circuit court or supreme court." Civic events at this time included "Jazz concerts" featuring black vaudeville performers organized by Pecquetter; horse races staged at Bellefontaine Race Course outside town; Pirate Day celebration on November 25 each year; processions honoring French generals during general elections; carnival rides scheduled for different dates throughout Year
Natchitoches was founded in 1812 by the French as a small town on the banks of the Arkansas River. The town gradually became an important center for trade and industry, and by the late 19th century Natchitoches had become a major cotton-growing center. In World War II, Natchitoches played an important role in the Battle of Tomahawk Ridge, and during the 1960s it experienced significant growth in population and economic importance as a result of its involvement in the oil industry. In recent years, Natchitocches has seen increasing development as a bedroom community for New Orleans.
