After years of manufacturing and distribution, Mr. Howe died in 1892, but his Shotgun company continued operations until 1966 when it merged with another company into one large corporation. Today, all production takes place at a new plant located near Baton Rouge, Louisiana where accuracy is still top priority!

Morgan City is a small town in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The population was 1,044 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Gulf of Mexico and is part of New Orleans metropolitan area. The settlement began as a small fishing village on the southern tip of Morgan City Island in 1811 by French colonists who named it after John Morgan, an American Revolutionary War hero and landowner in nearby Baton Rouge. The island was acquired by the United States in 1814, but slowly grew due to its strategic location between New Orleans and Mobile Bay and its rich maritime history which includes being the site of both Ulysses S. Grant's surrender at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865 and Confederate General Robert E. Lee's last stand at Manassas Junction on March 27, 1865 before his surrendered army retreated to Richmond, Virginia two days later. On July 8, 1875, Hurricane Andrew struck southeastern Louisiana killing more than 100 people along with destroying much property including many homes in downtown Morgan City where people had gathered for their weekly square dances that evening to celebrate Independence Day. A few weeks later President Ulysses S Grant issued a proclamation ordering all Federal military forces out of Louisiana until further notice following Democrat-led efforts to suppress black voting during Reconstruction; this order effectively ended white control overMorgan City affairs.. In 1905 Morgan City voted overwhelmingly not to secede from New Orleans due to fears that such a move would worsen race relations within the city and its rural surroundings while also provoking retaliation from neighboring Jefferson Parish which had long considered Morgan City an illegitimate outpost controlled by African Americans living offended white residents who were not contributing anything constructive or economic development thereto.. Many businesses closed down during Reconstruction as African Americans were no longer able to obtain licenses or business permits available through government quotas set forth during this time period.; however some individuals including Mayor Hinton continued operate taverns/grains stores/cafés until difficulties caused by lack of infrastructure (such as access to water) led most businesses operating prior to 1870 closure outright or converted into lodging/motels etc... In 1951 local real estate developer Julius Caesar Steele bought back most ownership interests in many defunct businesses including those mentioned above making him one of only three men everto own full management rights over any given business enterprise in Louisiana outside of larger agricultural concerns; he continues operating as Steele Properties Incorporated today.. Accordingly, despite having experienced few major events throughout its centuries-old history - like Hurricane Andrew - downtown Morgan City has seen comparatively little change since 1900 save for some refurbishment projects carried out by Steele Properties Incorporated over recent years; however there has been significant investment made recently with plans underway for new shopping mall/entertainment complex (to be called "The Crescent" formerly known as "The Forum") replacing old riverfront buildings adjacent to Interstate 10; construction should begin earliest 2018 and be completed late 2019 according as permits have already been obtainedand budget has yetto be finalized;; meanwhile several other redevelopment initiatives are currently under way namely: renovation/upgrading Of Thibodaux High School which opened in 1902 on land adjoining The Crescent; construction Of A&M University's new main campus across from I10 just north Of downtown Morgantown;; renovation And expansion Of previously abandoned housing developments near US 165 east Of town center Forage & Gibson Homes LLC., LLC.) notable among these latter projects is plans To redevelop Anse Anse Boulevard leading From I10 East To The Crescent With retail space At Its Entrance libating To multiple restaurants And Night Clubs servicing locals & visitors alike... Downtown Morgantown also sees periodic street flooding resulting From heavy rains so please take care When Walking Or Driving There Wearing BootsOr similar footwear As Street Water May Cause Slippery Conditions); overall though Morgantown remains largely unaffected By Katrina damage although some areas may experience softer impacts such As Lowertown Which received minimal stormwater runoff when compared To higher elevation neighborhoods nearer I10) .. Morgan City was founded in 1816 by James Fenton and his wife, Anne. The town was named for General Morgan, the hero of the Battle of Tippecanoe. The first post office was established in 1820. In 1825, the town had a population of 100 people. By 1840, the population had grown to 350 people. In 1850, Morgan City became an agricultural center with a large cotton plantation. By 1870, the cotton plantation had been bought by John Smedley and renamed Southern Pacific Railroad Company. In 1876, Southern Pacific railroad built a line from New Orleans to Morgan City; this line made Morgan City one of the most important railroads in Louisiana. The town began to decline after that time because it wasn't able to keep up with railroad growth. However, starting in the early 1990s, some revitalization efforts started happening in Morgan City; these include developing new businesses and creating new cultural attractions such as an opera house and a recreated courthouse square. Today, Morgan City is still an important community within Louisiana's history and culture.
