Minden is a small town in the parish of St. John the Baptist, Louisiana, United States. The population was 527 at the 2010 census. Minden is part of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded by French colonists in 1814 and named for Philippe-Antoine de Minden, Sieur de la Jonquière's military aide during the American Revolution. In 1836, it became a U.S. post office under the name of Ocean Springs; it changed to Minden in 1907 after its incorporation as a village by an act of the Louisiana Legislature. The name comes from two local waterfalls: "Méné" (meaning "meadow") near where Main Street crossesriver and "Peniche" ( meaning "peninsula"). According to one source, Minden was home to one of only two blacksmiths in Lafourche Parish when Hurricane Katrina struck on August 29, 2005; other sources claim that there are no blacksmiths in Minden pre-Katrina. After Katrina destroyed much of what had been built in Minden since its founding as a community - including many homes and businesses - Mayor Garry McCarthy ordered all businesses closed until further notice while he explored options for rebuilding with private donations or government assistance There were also plans to demolish all but one building in town before they were abandoned due to public outcry and fundraisers being successful enough to keep most structures standing A satellite imagery search through Google Earth revealed that not a single house remained standing within Inverness Village following Katrina even though most residents had evacuated A few weeks later however all but three buildings still standing were demolished due to lack of funding . In November 2006 Mayor McCarthy announced that his city would be available for resettlement based on availability of housing, which led people from surrounding communities such as Metairie and New Orleans to come visitMinden during December 2006 . By Spring 2007 more than 300 individuals from across Lafourche Parish had registered online with HUD stating their desire for resettlement once federal disaster aid became available The first families moved into their new homes on April 1st 2008 Many residents who initially wanted out because they could not afford comfortably sold their homes soon found themselves unable or unwilling to leave after realizing just how difficult life will be living away from family and friends

By 1902 all infantry weapons were provided with magazines capable of holding up to 100 rounds of ammunition each (later increased to 150). Machineguns typically carried 800 rounds per gun between 1903 and 1906 while artillery retained 400 rounds until 1916 before finally adopting 20 Rounds per Gun Rack (Rg) system that remained in effect until 1923. The development of automatic weapons such as Browning Automatic Selfloader (BASL) lead to an increase in firepower when combined with magazines capable of holding thousands of rounds each which became common on battlefields throughout World War II. Many major battles took place without any engagement taking place due to massive amounts of gunfire leading up to and following conflict where munitions storage sites had been contaminated or destroyed making weapon disarmament much more difficult than ever before; however this did not stop mass shootings from happening during wartime like Japan’s Onishi Massacre or America’s Pearl Harbor Attack both instances resulting in large numbers civilian casualties which led governments around the world looking for ways to reduce gun violence or prohibit automatic weapons altogether

Minden is a small town in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,567 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area. Greek colonists from Ionia arrived in 1699 and founded Fort Caroline on the Baton Rouge River near what is now Minden. In 1785, French traders and soldiers occupied Minden for five weeks during their invasion of Louisiana. They left behind two cannons and 400 Musketeers to garrison the post. A year later, they abandoned Fort Caroline because of lack of food and water supplies as well as Native American resistance. In 1803, bothMinden's French occupants (the Jesuits) and English settlers (the Jeffries) were expelled by General John Jackson while he was besieging Mobile Bayou du Lac. The French reoccupied Minden with 3 cannon and 100 men after they withdrew from Mobile Bayou du Lac. With no Indian help available to them, the Englishmen quickly lost their foothold in this new land that had been taken over by European adventurers without any regard for local custom or traditions. The first white child born in Minden was Sarah Goodloe on October 26th 1805 when her father Amos Goodloe purchased land east of present-day downtownMinden from Antoine de la Salle for $400 cash plus 5 horse teams/cattle/livestock worth $4 each which would be divided equally among his four children; one daughter could marry any man within three miles of town limits – so Sarah would have access to all resources her father had acquired through trade! Rasheeda Goodloe chose not to marry outside her social class restrictions because she wanted an education for herself like most women did at that time; however due to a loophole in state law at that time she became Mrs James vander Valk (1807-1892), also known as “Sister Annie” who taught music history & philosophy at US Military School for Girls located west of Minden until it burned down in 1865; Valk helped found Acadiana College & Seminary also located west of Minden which still exists today! In 1830 Jno Baptiste married 1800+ year old Abigaille Thibodeaux who gave him 2 more girls: Marie l’Hospitaliere (1831-1908) & Hortense Thibodeaux (1833-1900). These 4 girls are considered founding mothers of mindena! After Abigaille died Jno remarried Marie Redingoletta Guerrieri on December 12th 1840 but again only had daughters: Rosa Guerrieri Vandrey (1841-1924), Lillie Giraudy Vandrey(born c1945), Jeanne IIIrd Vandrey(born c1950). So far there has been only 1 male descendant thru granddaughter Marie Redingoletta Guerrieri who is son Henri IIIrd Vandrey Jr., born c1973! Unfortunately many other descendants might never know about theirroots either because some records were destroyed when their families moved away or changed their names when they got married etc...It takes alot effort to track these family histories down especially if you wantto find out more about your ancestors!!!
