Ammunition production increased during World War I due to demand from the military and other institutions, but decreased after the war; however, it resumed gradually thereafter. In 1933, munitions manufacturer Military Ordnance Company merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form Winchester-Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation (WRA). WRA began producing large quantities of high-quality rifle ammunition under its own name as well as products made by other companies under license. In 1945, WRA merged with American Munitions Incorporated (AMI) to form American Munitions Incorporated/Winchester Ammunition Corporation (AMI/WAC). AMI continued producing handgun ammunition under its own name until 1978 when it became part of Ammonia Industry Corporation. In 1992, AMI merged with shot supplier Smith & Wesson Firearms Corporation to form Smith & Wesson Ammo Corporation. Today there are three primary factories that produce ammo for handguns: Cabelas Game Outfitters Manufacturing LLC., Federal Cartridge Co., and Hornady Ammunition Group Inc.—all located in nearby Springfield Township. Gun manufacturers have become more reliant on self-propelled rounds (SPRs), which are designed specifically for quick target acquisition over open countryside or urban areas; these rounds use smaller caliber bullets that travel at a much slower speed than traditional 30 caliber rounds used for hunting or shooting sports applications. Ammo production is also increasing rapidly for small arms systems using depleted uranium ammunition; this type of ammunition is often considered less harmful than conventional lead projectiles because it does not cause environmental damage and does not go through human body tissues like regular lead does

Minden is a small town in the parish of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,677 at the 2010 census. Minden was founded by French colonists in 1718 as "New Orleans." It became a U.S. state on July 4, 1803 and was named for General John J. Minden of the Texas Rangers who had helped suppress Indian raids in that area in 1802-3. Minden's post office opened in 1814 and remained open until it closed on July 16, 1922 due to budget cuts by then-Governor Edwin Edwards. The first store in Minden was built about 1800 by Jean Baptiste de la Salle and his family; it operated from a log cabin which still stands today at 6609 FM 1536 (now US 90). A second store was built about 1825 by Nicholas Mouton and his brother Etienne Mouton; it also still stands today at 7052 FM 593 (now US 90). The last store building erected in Minden was built about 1910 by Fenton Witherspoon and his brother-in-law, Caddo Lumber Co., Inc.; it served as a movie theater until its destruction in an arson fire on December 8, 1990 A new school opened on October 20th 1912 by Drury School District #1 with Mrs. Sallie Tipton as Superintendent/Teacher; the school burned down on November 3rd 1913 but was rebuilt with more modern facilities A new church started up around 1915 under the leadership of Revd Geo Griggs; it continued to operate until 2003 when it too caught fire In 1916 local resident James Fenton donated land for what would become Midway Cemetery which now contains over 2 million gravesites In 1934 local resident Emory White donated land for what would become Dowling Park which now features tennis courts, basketball court, soccer fields etc . . . In 1961 local resident Forrest Boudreaux donated land for what would become Dowling Stadium which now house the Minden High School football team and numerous other sports programs
