Mandeville is a town in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 4,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–St. Tammany Parish Metropolitan Statistical Area. Mandeville was founded in 1803 by Frenchman Antoine-Jacques de Mandeville as an agricultural village on the banks of the Mississippi River. In 1830, it became a parish (later named after Augustine de la Motte Stroud) with 6,000 residents and two churches: one Protestant and one Catholic. In 1845, the parish's land extended to include what is now eastern Orleans Parish; as a result, Mandeville became an incorporated city in 1848. By 1860, its population hadgrown to over 20,000 people and it had its own library and fire department. In 1898 oil began flowing from an nearby well site; soon after, businesses sprang up around the new industry and Mandeville prospered as a center for trade and commerce. Mandeville experienced significant growth during World War II when many Americans left their homes to fight in Europe or Japan;during that time period there were more than 30 businesses in town alone employing more than 50 workers including several foundries which produced munitions such as tanks and airplanes

Mandeville is a town in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 12,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area. The parish was established on November 3, 1803, and named for William B. Mandeville, a British general who had fought in the American Revolutionary War and then served as president of Louisiana from 1794 to 1800. The town was founded by Thomas J. Walker in 1819 after he bought land east of what is now Mandeville from the French Canadians who lived there before that. The name came from Marshal François-Marie d'Iberville's terms of peace between France and America during the Seven Years' War (1756-1763). Iberville had been sent to America to negotiate a treaty ending that war when he learned of French preparations for another offensive against Great Britain—a plan known as an Invasion of Canada or "the Conquest" because it would establish French control over eastern North America beyond the Appalachian Mountains. Walker built a log cabin where he later designated his first store; it still stands today on Old Spanish Trail Road just southwest of town limits near Interstate 10 exit 241B (now US 190). In 1827, he married Anna Cushing and moved his family into their new home; they would live there until her death in 1865. He also built two other stores within walking distance of his original one: one at 515 East Rampart Street and another at 801 South Rampart Street which remain standing today as cultural landmarks adjacent to Mandeville High School Heritage Campus on Old Spanish Trail Road across from Veterans Memorial Park/Veterans Stadium football field southwest of downtownMandeville is located at .
