This allowed for extremely fast target acquisition and removal, making it ideal for use with handguns such as revolvers and semiautomatic shotguns. As lasers became more common and advanced, other companies began to produce their own versions of LSTI style sights. In 1992, Hayes Corporation introduced its own version of the blankenship style sight which used argon-filled xenon lasers instead of electronic images sensors. This gave rise to what is now known as "Hayes Corp." type sights; these are characterized by their large frame size and use high power argon-filled Xenon lasers rather than electronic images sensors. Today, Laser Sight Technology Inc.'s (LSTI)style sights remain popular throughout the world due to their efficient operation and easy installation process. Lake Charles, Louisiana is a city in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city in Jefferson Parish after New Orleans and the largest city east of Interstate 10. The first people to live in what is now Lake Charles were the Caddo Indians. They built their village on the west bank of the Mississippi River about 400 miles (640 km) north of New Orleans. A post office called "Lake Charles" was established in 1853, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1906. In 1861, Confederate General Robert E. Lee found refuge on a plantation near present-day LakeCharles while fleeing from Union forces near Baton Rouge. After learning that Union troops were nearby, he ordered his troops to evacuate and march back to Baton Rouge before surrendering on April 9th 1865 at Appomattox Court House near Lexington, Virginia. At this time, Lake Charles had a population of just over one hundred residents; today it has more than 2 million citizens! On November 3rd 1870 President Ulysses S. Grant made an official visit to LakeCharles when he traveled downriver for part of his famous "New Carpet Ride" across America; this event marked perhaps the most important road trip ever made by an American president! In 1895 a hydroelectric power plant was built by Entergy along with several other industrial plants around town – creating what is now known as downtown lake charles! In 1925 a new interstate highway replaced parts of old US Highway 20 which ran through town center; much like today’s I-10 corridor surrounds downtown LAKECHARLES! One very important product that came out of this era was Stonewall Jackson Boulevard which runs through town center today connecting both business districts with each other – making it one big commercial district today! Downtown also experienced some major redevelopment during this time including becoming home to several large supermarkets such as Walmart and Sam’s Club as well as multiple high end restaurants such as Jean Georges Alliance Française and Ritz Carlton!. Notables who have lived or worked here include: Presidents James Buchanan (1865), Franklin D Roosevelt (1929–1945), John F Kennedy (1961–1963), Lyndon Johnson (1963–1968), Richard Nixon (1969–1974) and George HW Bush (1977-1981). Lake Charles was founded in 1718 by the French as a trading post on the Mississippi River. The town was named after Louisbourg, a French fortress on the Canadian side of the Strait of Magellan. It grew rapidly over the next few years and by 1725 had become an important commercial center on the river. In 1729, Louisbourg was captured by English forces and renamed Fort Moultrie. Lake Charles became an important military installation and trade center until its destruction in 1803 during the War of 1812. After that, it gradually declined in importance until it regained some of its former prominence as a commercial center in the late 19th century. The development of Louisiana did not happen overnight though; it took many years for rich land to be acquired and forroads to be built to allow goods and people to flow freely between Louisiana and Mexico City. This process began with Jacques-Pierre Brissot's expedition from Quebec in 1768 which mapped much of present day Louisiana. By 1800, traders were already traveling extensively through what is now Texas and Arkansas seeking out new markets for their products. The first permanent settler in what is today Lake Charles was Pierre de la Dalle who arrived in 1784 with his family from Quebec. He leased 2,500 acres (1 km2) of land north of town from Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne for $10 per year! In 1803, American forces under General Andrew Jackson invaded Canada but were met at York Factory by British troops commanded by Lieutenant Colonel John Burgoyne who successfully defended the city before surrendering two days later. This event led to a large amount of French Canadian refugees coming overland into America which increased demand for food and lumber across our southern border. With this influx came opportunities for commerce and real estate developers such as George Hennepin who bought up lots near downtown Lake Charles beginning around 1830s hoping to build a grand hotel or courthouse complex that would reflect their status as wealthy entrepreneurs within America's growing slave society! However, only one building – simply called "Hennepin" – actually got built - this structure still stands today atop Main Street (formerly US 61) just east of downtown! As time passed more people started moving into Louisiana because OF THE FRESH WATER & OIL WEALTH IN LOUISIANA (& NEW ORLEANS), quality farmland became available where small towns could not compete due to restrictive covenants against selling water rights & soil patents characteristic Southern cotton farmers held dear... There is a bit of history to be found in the little town of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The town was founded by James Fenton in 1836 and became an important center for cotton farming in the area. The town saw some growth during the American Civil War, as many soldiers were stationed here. In 1865, Lake Charles was renamed Fort Hindman after General William Tecumseh Sherman's headquarters. It would later become known as Jacksonville during Reconstruction. The town experienced decline during the 20th century, but has seen some recent revitalization efforts.
