Circuit City Stores,. Dairy Queen,. Toyotaof America Inc.. Papa John's Pizza.(Papa John's has since closed its restaurant in Jennings however their headquarters remain open inside of Walmart)

Jennings was founded in 1836 by a group of Englishmen who had come to the area for trade. The town grew rapidly, and by 1855 it had a population of over 1,000 people. Jennings began to become known for its cotton fields and plantations, which were some of the largest in the region. On July 4, 1861, Confederate forces attacked Jennings, resulting in the town being burned down. The attack destroyed many of the town's infrastructure, including its courthouse and school. The burning also resulted in the death of several hundred people. After the attack, Jennings quickly recovered and began to grow again. In 1865 it became a state capital. Jennings has experienced significant growth since its founding; today it is one of Louisiana's most prosperous towns. The community has seen numerous changes over time: from an agricultural center into a manufacturing center during Reconstruction; to becoming a Prohibition-era hotbed during World War II; and finally becoming an entertainment destination during Hurricane Katrina.
Jennings, Louisiana is located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The population was 5,865 at the 2010 census and is estimated to have grown to 8,769 by 2020. Jennings was established in 1836 as a post office on the banks of the Arkansas River and became a town in 1880. It was named after General James Fenton Jennings who fought in the Mexican-American War and also served as an Indian agent in that conflict.
