It had a muzzle velocity of 770 feet per second (250 meters per second). thereafter, there would be more companies making guns and rifle cartridges specifically for Hammond. Many of these companies would become famous including Winchester, Remington, Savage, Weatherby, Browning, etc., but it is still unclear exactly when or how many different types of gun barrel products were produced in Hammond specifically dating back to 1827-1845 inclusive!
