Eunice, Louisiana is a small town in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Eunice has been inhabited by human beings since the Early Paleo-Indians. In 1814, French traders and soldiers travelling through Lafourche Parish discovered Indian gamers killing cows and other animals with bows and arrows. The traders reported this to General James K. Polk while he was on his way to Washington D.C., who ordered Colonel John C. Breckinridge to march his brigade against the Indians in what became known as the Battle of Prairie du Chien (December 3, 1814). A small group of American militiamen arrived too late to participate in that battle, but they killed or took captive over 30 Indians including Chief Tecumseh which led to America's entry into the Mexican-American War (1846–48). After Mexico's withdrawal from the war in 1848, Texas claimed part of Mexico for itself and began negotiating treaties with various Native American nations regarding their land holdings south of the US/Mexico border. In 1858 Eunice residents learned about a treaty being negotiated between Texas and Apache Chief Cochise that would provide access to oil wells located east of Eunice across from what is now known as IH1095 N (along Interstate 1095), which opened up new opportunities for agricultural production in Eunice Township and elsewhere within Lafourche Parish after centuries of isolation from larger areas of North America due to hostile Jesuit missions throughout much of central Louisiana during early 1800s... Eunice leaders made an agreement with Cochise whereby each warrior may take one female deer per day off hunting grounds within 2 miles radius around their village; these sites were determined by gender due to hunting pressure exerted by neighboring villages upon local men... Men were not allowed inside village boundaries without permission from womenfolk; however, men could trade goods back into village for goods brought out by womenfolk... In return for access to these resources,... Cochise agreed not only not To Kill Any Human Beings But ALSO Not To Bear Arms Against Us Nor To Intrude Upon Our Lands.... This peaceful deal lasted until Apache Wars began in 1886 when US forces invaded Apache Territory under orders from President James K. Polk after learning about grizzly bear raids occurring near present day Lafayette County...... Aftermath: 300+ Apaches dead & many properties taken over by US military

They have everything from chicken breasts to ribs to brisket - all cooked perfectly and served up on some amazing Baptistasso rice Pilafs! I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
