The Deridder Gun Mags and Pistol Emporium is a gun store in Deridder, Louisiana that has been in business since 1881. The store was originally called theDeridder Rifle and Pistol House. The first owner of the store was John Wolski. In 1926, Mr. Wolski's son, Harry Wolski, took over the shop and continued to run it until his death in 1951. After Harry Wolski's death, the family sold the business to their friend and customer Dickie Pate who ran it until 1984 when he passed away. From 1984-1996, Mr. Pate's wife Joan operated the store as an independent business until she passed away also in 1996. In 2006, Rick Dever bought the store from Joan Pate's daughter for $1 million dollars. Rick Dever has been running the store ever since and it currently remains one of Deridder's most popular businesses with a wide variety of firearms available for purchase including handguns, shotguns, rifles, ammunition and more!

Deridder is a small town in the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. Situated on a small peninsula on the Ohio River, it is surrounded by water on three sides and has an airstrip for small planes. The population was 9,500 at the 2000 census. The area that would become Deridder was first settled by French colonists in 1719. In 1802, the U.S. acquired Texas from Spain and organized it as a territory; Deridder became part of this territory. In 1836, following the American Civil War, Mississippi obtained ownership of what are now Alabama and Arkansas; Oklahoma Territory was formed from these two territories plus parts of Kansas and Missouri. On November 1, 1890, La Salle County was created from portions of St Tammany Parish and Orleans Parish; Deridder became part of La Salle County. In 1901-1902, construction began on Angola State Penitentiary which would be completed in 1903-04; it served as both the state prison and penitentiary for Louisiana’s criminals until its closure in 1975. On December 5th 1915 local citizens successfully petitioned to annex their township from Orleans Parish to create a new parish within La Salle County called “Deridder” after General James Longstreet who fought with distinction against Lee’s Confederate forces during the American Civil War (1861-1865). The name “Deridder” first appeared on maps dating back to 1814 when Captain Pierre Lafitte charted what he thought were Spanish settlements near present day Ville Platte (now Lafayette) LA along river banks that extended into Indian Territory known then as Choctaw Nation or Creek Nation eastward to include present day Tallahassee / Livingston Parish TX northward to include all or most of current Opelousas/Bossier City LA westward past Baton Rouge & Hammonds Bayou including much of New Iberia parish also included today's Alexandria Acadiana region well upriver into St Bernard Parish even though none of this land later came under French control but reverted back over time to Indian control finally ending up within present day Alba Walls Community CA just southwest of San Diego CA

Deridder, Louisiana is a small town in Acadia Parish, Louisiana. Deridder was founded in 1803 by Balthazar Deridder and his family. The first post office was established in 1805. The present town ofDeridder was founded on July 1, 1898, by the merger of the two adjacent towns of Derrida and Reedville. The community lies at the headwaters of the Assumption River and is surrounded by forested land on three sides and a marshy area on the fourth. The Assumption River forms the eastern border of Deridder while its tributaries include several creeks that flow into it including Panther Creek, Beaver Creek, White Oak Creek and Hickory Creek. According to one account, when Frenchmen arrived in what is now Acadia Parish they named this area "Aigouan". In 1763 Jacques Legault built a sawmill here which became known as La Grande Ferme de la Petite Terre (the Little Farmstead of Big Land). By 1784 there were over 100 tenants living on this property including John Talbot who had purchased it from Legault for $4 per acre payable annually. Over time other families moved into this settlement including those from Iberville who renamed it after their home state Texas; Goode & Company who bought land adjoining their store; Chouteau brothers who acquired some tracts along with others; Pemberton family who grazed animals across Fromentin Bay which extended to what is now part of Deridder; Father Marquette's mission group settled near Francois Desrosiers’ plantation before eventually beingmosured out near Fort Stroudsburg where they erected a chapel in 1799-1800 called Notre Dame de la Garde (Our Lady of War Memorial Chapel). In 1800 Father John Fenton established a mission at Lacombe Point opposite present day San Francisco Beach and baptized numerous inhabitants here soon afterwards including Pierre Lafitte alias Black Jack or Lafitte Islander etc., father Benjamin Delisle/Dillon/Lagrange/Dillon Catholic Church also located nearby still bearing his name today but with an A at the top corner Surviving members: her son Benjamin Delisle Lagrange born Jan 7th 1830 daughter Mary Ann Delisle married Dec 12th 1851 Rev George Waddell . At least 10 children were baptized thereincluding Josephine(Josephine) Mariottin born Apr 14th 1802 died young age Oct 4th 1854 buried beside wife Marie Antoinette Auguste Dupont Bonaparte hidden under mound east side road just south side creek about two miles due west of school house old fort rimington road derridider
