Crowley is a small town in Louisiana, United States. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Shreveport–Bossier City, LA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Crowley is located on I-10 and US 71 and has a total area of . The town was founded in 1872 by John Edward Crowley and named after him. In 1899, Crowley became the first community to be established in Rapides Parish when it was annexed from Catahoula Parish. The community grew rapidly during the 1920s due to its proximity to Lake Rapides and its easy access to Interstate 10. By 1960, Crowley had become an agricultural center with over sixty farms producing hay, corn, soybeans, cotton, eggs, cattle, pigs and other livestock. During the late 1990s and early 2000s local residents began to redevelop their downtown core into retail districts which now include several restaurants including Joes Pizza & Pastry Co., Love's MarketPlace Cafe & Grill (now Zizi), Brescia's Italian Café & Bakery (now called Big Joe's), JJ's Hair Shop & Vinyl Emporium (now known as One Eye Tattoo) and Infinity Radio Systems Incorporated store which opened in 2007 as a music store/ internet cafe/. In February 2009 Crowley voters passed a resolution urging then-Governor Kathleen Blanco to sign legislation that would make it easier for businesses in Crowley to obtain state business licenses; this legislation became law on April 4th 2009. The new laws make it much easier for businesses owners within the city limits of Shreveport–Bossier City to seek state permits such as building permits or zoning approvals instead of having to go through cumbersome application processes typically required for larger municipalities such as Baton Rouge or New Orleans. It should be noted that while this development may benefit smaller communities like Crowley more than larger metropolitan areas like Baton Rouge or New Orleans because they are not directly impacted by state government decisions made concerning business license applications within their borders (e.g., no zoning restrictions on property use within city limits), these communities still have some degree of economic dependence upon statewide Govt services which can impact their ability to compete with larger metropolitan areas without experiencing similar positive benefits from deregulation or other forms of market competition
Firearms t-shirts have been around since the early 1800s. They are often associated with various shooting sports, such as rifle shooting, shotgun shooting, and pistol shooting. In 1887, a company called "The Rifle Shops of America" started producing firearms t-shirts. The company was started by a man named John M. Browning. He wanted to promote his new bolt action rifle, the Winchester Model 1885. He decided to produce a shirt that said "Winchester 1886". This was the first time that firearms t-shirts were produced in large quantities and it helped spread the word about this new product. T-shirts soon became popular among shooters across the United States. In 1966, Colt began producing firearms t-shirts in conjunction with their magazine armament division called Colt Action Arms (CAAD). These shirts bore the slogan "MILITARY OR CULTURE? IT'S ALL IN THE GUNS!" This slogan was based on Colt's decision to produce its own guns instead of working with other firearm manufacturers. It helped make firearms t-shirt production more popular than ever before. over time, different companies have produced firearms t-shirts for different purposes or events. Today there are many different brands and styles available which makes buying an individual firearm shirt difficult if not impossible!

Crowley was founded in 1872 by H. P. Lovecraft and his brother, Arthur Conan Doyle. The community was named for Crowley, a small town in Texas, which had been the site of an early experimentation with black magic by two American scientists. In 1893, Edgar Allan Poe wrote "The Raven", which is set in Crowley and features the characterography of the town's residents: a group of elderly witches who believe that the ravens that visit their house bring bad luck; a group of men who practice high-level black magic; and a single woman whose husband died young and leaves her to fend for herself. In 1951, Montresor Publications published "The Golden Bough", which includes passages from Poe's story about Crowley as well as remarks from Lovecraft about the town's history and people. The following year, Crowley became one of the first communities to receive assistance from Louisiana State University's Center for Louisiana Studies (CLAS). CLAS has since played an important role in promoting Crowley through research, education, and preservation efforts. Today, CLAS operates as an official partner with the community throughout its annual festival held on November 3rd each year.
