From then on until 1978 there was only one production line producing pistols called “The Gunsmiths” line operated out of an old warehouse at 515 East Broad Street In 1978 Cramer & Kapp Firearms Manufacturing Company merged with another firearms manufacturer named Colt Industries Incorporated resulting in automatic pistol production being restarted on three different lines: The Combat Line (a derivative of the Model 1911), The American Pistol (similar to the Colt Python) and finally The Cowboy Lines (derivative of both designs). All three lines continued operation into current day with Colt Industries own manufacturing plant located within walking distance of all three lines' facilities

The Battle of Mansfield took place on October 14-15, 1862 near present day Bossier City when Confederate forces under General Jefferson Davis clashed with Union forces led by Major General Daniel Boone. over control of a small river crossing near this region. At least 50 Confederate soldiers died in the battle while only six Union soldiers were killed including Boone himself
