The downside is that they tend to be more expensive than airsoft mounts and usually come with better built components such as two horizontal bearing arms on each side for stability while shooting at long ranges (>600m). 3) Military scope mount: This type uses heavy duty tube style arms incorporated into a heavier metal chassis which makes it much harder for any cheap plastic parts to go wrong during mounting process however they do come with limitations like only being able to attachment onto bolts on rifles that have threaded inserts (not all rifles do).
