Bastrop, Louisiana is a small town in the Parish of Bastrop, Louisiana. The population was 1,818 at the 2010 census. It is located on the banks of the Red River and is one of the smaller communities in Bastrop Parish. The town was founded in 1854 by John Fenton and William Ladd as a simple outpost on an arms-length stretch of land between Conroe and Killeen. Fenton named it for General James Wilkinson who had been killed during the Mexican-American War. The first school in Bastrop was built in 1857 by Judge James Davenport. In 1865, Fenton bought 5 acres of land east of town from J.H. Boudreaux to create what is now Bastrop Parkland; he named it after his wife Anna Maria (née Purdy). In 1870, when Texas became a state, Bastrop voted to secede from Louisiana and become its own independent county with its own government and courts; it has remained an unincorporated community ever since. As part of Texas' annexation into the United States in 1867, Bastrop was placed within Ulysses S. Grant's new territorial government at Fort Worth; however, because it did not ratify statehood until after San Antonio had become an independent city under English law, Bastrop continued to maintain its separate government until 1898 when it joined with other nearby towns to form Quincy Township (now Webster County). 2) In 1861 cotton crops were successfully grown for export here but this soon stopped due to lack of market demand – only soybeans were exported from here until 1973 before ceasing altogether due to environmental concerns brought about by farming activities 3) The first post office opened at bastop on July 25th 1861 Postal service resumed operations here on October 15th 1861 with Wm Hatton Postmaster 4) On February 3rd 1865 Confederate Major general Braxton Bragg arrived here following his victory over Union forces at Mansfield Hill; he called this place "Bastrop" which stuck until 1862 when General Johnston renamed it "Katrina" after his mother

This law was motivated by concerns about their potential use as weapons against civilians and military personnel. Since then, much has changed with regards to BB guns - many have been banned or regulated in different ways throughout America. Some of these changes include: 1) The introduction of airguns in the early 1900s led to a boom in popularity for BB guns; today they are still widely used across America. 2) In 1971, Congress passed the Gun Control Act (GCA), which limited possession and use of all handguns except those manufactured by licensed manufacturers with a serial number registered with the FBI. This law remained in effect until 2008 when it was repealed by President Barack Obama due to its potential loopholes. 3) In 1998, two brothers developed an airgun that shoots pellets instead of rounds; this introduced another type of firearm into the market - home-made pistols using shotgun barrels as ammunition carriers/pistols. 4) In 2002, Congress passed the Protection fromPersonalBargaining Act (POPA), which made it more difficult for people to make or sell unlicensed BB Guns without registering them with state police agencies; this law remains in place today.

Bastrop is a small town located in the parish of Bastrop, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Shreveport–Bossier City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bastrop has been inhabited by humans since the 18th century. On July 20, 1836, Caddo Chief Pontotoc surrendered to U.S. forces at what is now Bastrop College and Fort Bend County Courthouse in Bastrop after a battle near present-day Lafayette. The first post office in Bastrop was established on January 6, 1847, with Wm Hines as its first Postmaster. A store and hotel were built soon afterward on Commerce Street (now US 66). The town gradually grew around this center until it reached its current size about 1840 when a new courthouse and cotton gin were built on Church Street (now FM 620). The local cotton industry declined during the American Civil War because of lack of available land and competition from large plantations in neighboring states. However, some buildings still stand today including First Baptist Church which was founded in 1860; Masonic Lodge No. 2; Republic National Bank building which was built in 1918; and Patton water tower which was completed in 1928-29. After the war ended, many residents returned to their former occupations within the town limits while others began to settle down outside of it for various reasons such as easier access to education or better economic opportunities outside of agriculture
Bastrop is a city in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 8,890 at the 2010 census. It was founded on July 4, 1836 by General John C. Bastrop and his brother-in-law Colonel James Wolkart as the "New Orleans of the West."
