In the early 1900s, self-defense weapons were not commonly available to civilians in the United States. This was due to a heated debate over who had the right to own such firearms and how they could be used. At first, people thought that warlords or militias would be able to use these weapons in order to protect their areas from insurgents. However, this was not always the case. Some of these cases include: 1) The shooting of Walter Scott by white police officer Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri set off a nationwide outcry against officer brutality; however, it was also clear that CLEAR Magazine (an armory west of Baton Rouge) had stockpiled several handguns for use by officers if necessary as well as long guns for hunting purposes 2) On July 18th 2017 an attacker walked into O’Neill High School in Stroudsburg Township Ohio wielding a knife and wounding multiple students before being shot dead by responding school resource officer 3) On September 14th 2017 an assailant walked into Columbine High School in Littleton Colorado carrying an assault rifle and killing 12 students before being killed himself

Baker is a small town in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 1,643 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Baker was one Moses Henson in 1836. The town was founded by John Dallaire and other settlers in 1867 when he became governor of Louisiana. A post office called Baker was established in 1871, and remained open until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1902, Baker had its own school system with four departments: agriculture; home economics; music; and social studies. In 1937, the LSU Tigers football team played their first game at Tiger Stadium (now Alumni Stadium) against Lamar University on September 16th. At that time, Baker also had an electric streetlight which still glows today! On May 9th 1948 local businessman Harry Byrd announced his candidacy for Governor of Louisiana against incumbent State Treasurer John Fussell with over 60% of the vote! After a close race that saw both men qualify for the run-off election on November 3rd against then Lieutenant Governor Huey Long Jr., Byrd emerged as winner with 52% of the vote to Long's 44%. In 1979 Ivey Hospital opened its doors as one of two new hospitals built within three years by Mayor Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and City Councilman Russell Shields who were instrumental in making this possible! This hospital would eventually become known as Ivey Medical Center! In 2006 Hurricane Katrina made landfall near Orleans Parish just east of downtown Baton Rouge without inflicting serious damage or fatalities but did cause significant damage to numerous businesses and homes including many iconic buildings such as Ivey Hospital and Regency Ballroom!!
