In 1804, Alexandria also became part of a general area called Iberia that included all present day Mexico City and parts of Texas and California; this territory was divided along racial lines into two sections: Mexican American Territory which included parts today including Phoenix AZ., El Paso TX., San Antonio TX., Austin TX., Lubbock TX., Murcia Spain,, while Anglo American Territory consisted only of Alexandria which formed what is now Jefferson Parish
