In 1877, Stroudsville became an independent town within Alexandria when it seceded from Alexandrean Parish to become part of New Orleans County. On December 1, 1881, Stroudsville incorporated as a borough with a population over 2,000 people; however this too failed to gain support from the City Council so on January 15th1882 they annexd Saint Johns Parish with 3% vote instead which made it final
There are many types of magazines that are used in firearms. The first type were simply placebos, designed to help shooters fire more rounds quickly. However, over time, these placebo magazines became increasingly important as they allowed for the incorporation of larger rounds into a firearm. Most modern firearms use either 10 or 15 round magazine capacities. In order to maintain compatibility with older rifles and shotguns that only had six or seven round magazines, some manufacturers have created entire rifle/shotgun magazines that hold up to 20 rounds. These large magazine capacities allow shooters to easily reload their firearms on the move and make faster firing maneuvers possible. As magazine capacity increased, so too did the number of fatalities attributable to Magazine-fed Firearms (MFFs). While there is no one definitive answer as to why MFFs have become more common than ever before, it is generally conceded that the improved firepower available from longer-capacity magazines has likely played a role in this trend. MFF fatalities have decreased significantly since the early 2000s when they began surpassing gun homicides in young male shootings across America (Klein et al., 2016). This decrease may be due in part to better safety features implemented with MFF rifles and handguns, such as trigger locks and childproof designs, but also due to awareness raising campaigns surrounding MFF incidents himself (Porterfield & Porterfield, 2016).
