In 1801, the first Baptist church in Kentucky was established on this site. The congregation moved to what is now Louisville in 1853. In 1865, Rev. Pemberton organized the First Presbyterian Church of Louisville and built it a new home on Market Street. The congregation moved again to their present location in 1967.
