That same year, NRA Life Member James Henson purchased property across Third Street from The Fenton Rifle & Pistol Range to establish an NRA shotgun club which still operates today under that name. From 1934-1969, plenty of accidents happened due to people not following safe gun handling techniques when firing their firearms at ranges or hunting out fields/grounds where they were not supposed to be shot! NRA member Roy Ewing was instrumental in creating procedures for safely using firearms by writing manuals which have survived to this day known as “The Safety Manual For Firearms Owners And Reloaders” published by American Shooting Sports Foundation (ASSF) and reprinted annually ever since!

Shelbyville is a small town in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 3,826 at the 2010 census. The town is named after General John Shelby, who fought in the American Civil War and died in battle. The settlement of Shelbyville was first postulated by Captain James Robertson in 1799. He located a location on the banks of the Monongahela River where he thought there would be a suitable site for a log cabin. A store and church were built soon afterwards and the name "Shelbyville" was given to the community by its founders. The first school in Shelbyville was opened on November 10, 1810 by Mrs. Elizabeth Hanks. There were no schools until 1812 when one was established by Reverend Mr. Cosby under the direction of Colonel Ebenezer Cooke. In 1815 an academy was organized which served as a high school from 1820 to 1830; it closed due to lack of students and money being raised to continue it by subscription from citizens throughout Hardin County . In 1800 four miles (6 km) south of Shelbyville another settlements called Bowling Green had been founded on Indian land owned by Pittsburgh traders Jacob Wright and Nicholas Pointon; this settlement continued until about 1860 when it too became abandoned due to Native Americans raiding neighbouring settlementsadenred with goods during the period known astheahaadakanton (). 2

The town was founded by Joshua Speed in 1795 as a trading post on the Great Miami River. In 1802, Speed moved his headquarters to this site and named it for himself and his wife Warmunde (Wendy) Shelby. The original courthouse was used until 1907 when a new one was erected on Main Street. In 1865, General Pemberton's army passed through Shelbyville on their way to battle at Perryville near Louisville. Confederate General John Crainer occupied the town during this time and began preparations for an upcoming offensive against Union forces under Major-General Thomas Ewell that never materialized. The town bounced back quickly after the war however, thanks to its location within easy driving distance of both Louisville and Lexington; both cities were key resources for coal mining operations during the early 19th century. During World War II, many residents enlisted in the armed forces or worked camps outside of Shelbyville to help support military activity in nearby states such as Tennessee and Alabama. After hostilities ceased, many residents returned home to continue their businesses or take up other civilian pursuits such as farming or ranching while their government-owned land remained undeveloped. One notable resident during this time period was local farmer Jerald “Jell” Ballard who operated a massive hog farm that yielded more than 100 million hogs over several decades beginning around 1940 – making him one of the largest pork producers in America at that time

The first store in Shelbyville was opened in 1823. In 1865, Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered at Appomattox Court House, ending the American Civil War.
