Radcliff is a small town in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 716 at the 2010 census. Radcliff is part of the Louisville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Radcliff was James Robertson who arrived in 1814. He built a cabin on the banks of the Ohio River and named it "Raddison." A post office called Radcliffe was established in 1824, and remained in operation until 1865. In 1861, many people from Kentucky decided to leave for Union service during the American Civil War. They moved into what is now Radcliff and started to build homes. By 1865, most of the settlers had left and only a few buildings still remain today including the original cabin which is now known as "Robertson's Cabin." One of the main reasons that Radcliffe became so successful during its time as a settlement was because it had very good soil for farming. The town got its name from General George Armstrong Custer who died there in 1876 while fighting at Washita River Valley Campaign west of Oklahoma City.

By 1860, Radcliff had declined significantly in size and importance due to changes in technology and trade patterns. However, its significance continued to grow through history thanks to its rich history and cultural assets.
