The first gun lights in Radcliff, Kentucky were installed on October 5, 1892. The first Municipal Court in Radcliff was lit with gun lights on November 1, 1892.
Radcliff, Kentucky is a small town in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. The population was 1,554 at the 2010 census. Radcliff is located on the Arkansas River and is part of the Louisville metropolitan area. The first settlement in what is now Radcliff was made by David Wallace in 1790. He and his wife, Hannah, established a trading post near present-day downtown. In 1811, James Waddell built a cabin near where the current courthouse stands. By 1827, there were nine families living in Radcliff Township and one family living north of it on Missouri Road. In 1830, John Sowell bought land east of present-day downtown from David Wallace for $2 per acre. In 1846, he organized and became president of the local bank which still operates today as First National Bank of Radcliff (FNB). The community experienced some trouble starting up until 1865 when FNB opened an office on Main Street which solved many problems that had arisen over time with no other business locale close by to provide services such as banking or marketing space for fledgling businesses that needed assistance getting off the ground. As more people started coming to live in Radcliff during the late 1800s and early 1900s, grocery stores popped up all around town making it easier for residents to get their groceries delivered to their homes rather than having them lugged around from store to store like they did back then. With so many stores available soon after incorporation into this new townspeople decided to name their first stop on Market Street after one of their favorite aspects of life - shopping! It wasn't long before every neighborhood had its own market stand - something that continues to this day! A fire destroyed most of downtown in 1906 but not before saving much important evidence from being destroyed including a large chunk out front of the old schoolhouse that served as future radcliffe city hall until 1969 when it was rebuilt using local funds following tornado damage at nearby Bardstown High School (now known as Jefferson County High School). That same year also saw construction begin on what would become Radcliffe’s first courthouse - likely one of only two original courthouse buildings still standing today due mostly to donations from resident groups who wanted something done about preserving/restoring historic structures within easy reach given how often they were damaged or destroyed by natural disasters over time! The building constructed between 1907-1910 remains largely unchanged even though it has been vacant since 1970 due largely to vandalism issues which continue even unto this day although attempts have been made by members Of The Town Council To Bring Back Business To Downtown And redevelop Some Of The Older Buildings But So far Nothing Has Happened

Radcliff was founded in 1814 by the brother and sisters of Methodist minister John D. Radcliffe. The town grew quickly due to its location at the intersection of two major roadways, becoming one of the most important transportation hubs in Kentucky during the 1800s. For a time, it served as the capital of Kentucky. In 1828, Radcliffe moved his headquarters from Louisville to Radcliff to avoid being expelled from his religious group for blasphemy. The local government soon changed too, becoming an elected form of government with a mayor and a councilman system instead of a single leader. In 1861, when Confederate General Robert E. Lee decided to move his army through central Kentucky to invade Tennessee, he called on Governor James Kountz to provide troops for him in Radcliff. Kountz refused because he thought thatRadcliffe would be willing and able to furnish more soldiers than necessary - which proved true when Confederate forces arrived at the town on April 12th and 13th.radcliffe's store burned down on April 14th while he was inside trying to save it
