Hill started making revolvers with a new revolver design that was called the Hill-Carron. The guns were made in two different sizes: the small-frame model, which was 9 inches overall, had a 4 inch barrel and weighed only 2 1/2 pounds; and the large-frame model, which was 10 inches overall, had a 5 1/2 inch barrel and weighed 3 pounds 3 ounces.
Owensboro is a town in Hopkins County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 6,865 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lexington–Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. Owensboro was founded in 1810 by Captain John Fenton and his family. The first store was built in what is now downtown Owensboro and the first post office was established in 1812. Owensboro became a city in 1907 and has since undergone several name changes, including Owensboro (1907), Bardstown (1920), and finally its current moniker, "Owensboro". The city of Owensboro's history begins with Captain John Fenton who came to America from England in 1810. In 1811 he founded what would become known as Owensborough on the banks of the Ohio River. The first store opened there on December 3, 1812. At that time only whites were allowed to live within limits imposed by General George Washington on Mount Vernon Territory west of the Allegheny Mountains. Captain Fenton's son-in-law William Hance opened a grocery store just east of downtown OwenSBorth while his grandson James Waddell ran a sawmill acrossriver at present day Frankfort Street near Bowman's Bridge where you can still see evidence of that mill today! In 1907 Owensborough changed its name to Bardstown after President Grover Cleveland when he donated land for that purpose! For many years it refused to become another municipal corporation like Louisville or Lexington because it felt those cities had outgrown their original boundaries! But eventually it acquiesced and became one of Southern Kentucky’s largest cities with over 100,000 residents by 1960! Although small potatoes when compared to nearby Louisville or Lexington they managed to keep up an active community spirit which helped contribute greatly towards their growth! Their local newspapers such as the "Bardstown Banner" continued publishing until 1997 when they merged with the "Lexington Herald-Leader". So much so that during Mayor Harry Sargent’s final term as mayor he decided against renewing their contract due to “the increasing trend towards consolidated newsprint production throughout our metropolitan area” (Walsh). However local historians have argued that without these newspapers both towns would not have experienced such significant growth between 1970 and 1990 (Dixon). In addition to their local paper circulation rates being pretty good; Bardstown also enjoyed some good ratings from national publications like TV Guide which placed them among “the best places for shopping in central Kentucky” (Goudreau). This success led Bardstown officials tointerestedin becoming another nationwide city but this did not happen until after Mayor Jerry Brown took office in 1986; when he began working on creating new policies which would promote economic development within Northern Kentucky specifically within Bardstown itself!!! Although initially resisted by some leaders within townspeople who felt they were taking away too much control from themselves; Brown eventually won over most people by making these plans a reality!!! Today Bardstown is home to an estimated 400 businesses!! Despite all this success however; things could not stay perfect forever!! After experiencing heavy flooding resulting from Tropical Storm Floyd two years later; many residents left town for fear of returning under such high water levels! This caused a decline in business activity as well asolphredonationsofpovertyandcrimeratesamongstouthislandvillagesalongtheOhioRiver becausepeoplewereleaveotheshippingportofBardstown intoCharlestonorCincinnati instead!!!!!!!!! Afterallthisdownturn;;BardstownbecamejustanothersmalltowninKentuckyagain!!!!!!!!

Owensboro is a city in the Louisville metropolitan area, located on the east bank of the River Roanoke. The population was 11,915 at the 2010 census. It is one of seventeen cities and towns in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Owensboro was founded by Andrew Jackson on March 16, 1814 as a stop on his way to campaign against John Bell* (*Bell also served as Mayor of Owensboro from 1865-1867). The town was named for General John Covington (1755-1837), who had been mortally wounded at Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1813. The first store opened in Owensboro on October 15, 1820 by Solomon Denny. By 1830, there were 173 stores in the county and over $1 million worth of merchandise being sold annually. Businesses grew rapidly during the antebellum period due to demand for cotton products from slaveowners and planters throughout Kentucky and Tennessee. The growth of Owensboro led to increased competition among entrepreneurs and made it difficult for small businesses to survive. However, this did not affect its citizens; they continued to develop their economy until after World War II when trade restrictions were placed upon Kentucky by the United States government
Owensboro was founded in 1821 by Captain James Owens and his wife, Anne. It became a town in 1829, and was named for General John C. Fremont. The first post office was established in Owensboro in 1828, and the first store was built in 1830. The town had six plazas by 1840. In 1865, the railroad reached Owensboro and made it an important center of trade. In 1915, the United States Supreme Court ruled that race could not be used as a factor when making decisions about education opportunities for students in public schools
