Nicholasville, Kentucky is home to the world's second largest shooting range. The Nicholasville Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1876 and today operates one of the most complete gun ranges in the United States. The club offers a variety of Rifle and Pistol classes, shoots annual matches, and has a number of educational opportunities for its members. The rifle range was built on land donated by George Stephenson. It opened on July 1, 1903, and at its peak had a capacity of over 2,000 shooters. Today it boasts a capacity of only 350 shooters and is used mainly for pistol shooting. The pistol range was also built on land donated by George Stephenson. According to NRA records, the rifle range hosted over 8 million rounds during its history while the pistol range hosted over 3 million rounds during its history. The first shooting protection device designed specifically for use at the Nicholasville Rifle & Pistol Club was an early form of bipod known as "the step ladder." This device allowed shooters to elevate their rifles up to 30 degrees so that they could fire from down low without having them elevated too high above their heads which would tend to cause inaccuracy with firearms firing from close quarters (20 feet or less). The step ladder became popular because it allowed shooters to fire from any position within three feet of their target without fear that they would fall off their rifle while engaging their target. Nicholasville is a small town in Pike County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 2,154 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Bowling Green metropolitan area. Nick'sville School District serves students from Nicholasville through Kenton and parts of Perry County. The first recorded mention of Nicholasville was in 1796 when it was spelled "NICHOLASVILLE." In 1802, the name became "Nicholasvill" and in 1821 it became "Nicholsville." The post office was established at Nicholsville in 1825 and continued until it bequeathed its current name to the school district on July 1, 1953. The early settlers were farmers who came overland from Kentucky and Tennessee. They built log homes near present-day Nicholasville in the early 1800s. By 1830, there were about 10 families living hereabouts. Most of these settlers were men because women did not gain full rights until after 1861 when Virginia passed a statute granting woman suffrage. In 1832, Major General David Logan founded what is now called Logan's Land Company which developed much of what is now Nicholasville into farm land including some of today's businesses such as banks and hotels. One resident of that day remembers: “There wasn't anything else around here then just farmland – eight miles wide by five miles long...It would have been hard work getting anything done back then because no one had any equipment or transportation other than horseback or wagons” . At that time many people raised livestock like cattle, sheep and pigs; however today most people are self-employed with only a few acres left for agriculture produce/livestock production! A store opened up on Court Street about 1840 also serving as an early stopping point for travelers going eastward (now US 421). That store closed down about 1950 but there are still remnants remaining today including two large logs used for floorboards! Today you can find residences all around town except for one corner where development has taken place since those days!

Nicholasville, Kentucky was founded on October 25, 1792 by Nicholas Reid. It is the second smallest city in the United States after Henderson, Nevada and is located in the eastern part of Randolph County. The population of Nicholasville was 581 at the 2010 census. The first settler in Nicholasville was Nicholas Reid who arrived on October 25, 1792. He organized a group of men and women to explore what would become Randolph County. They named their town after General George Washington who had come through the area some time before. The first store in Nicholasville was located on Main Street and functioned as a local post office from 1801 to 1809. In 1820, a courthouse was built and served as the main legal center for Randolph County until it burned down in 1834. In1835, Nicholasville became an Indian reservation with 3200 acres (14 km2) of land given to the Ottawa Indians by Edward Everett Jr.. After years of negotiations and failed attempts at treaty negotiation, General Andrew Jackson signed the Treaty of Fort Pickering on September 20th, 1837 which acquired all US Indian reservations east of Creektown River including Nicolasville except for 250 acres (120 km2) that were sold to settlers near present day Oakwood Cemetery The population growth potential for this area led to new construction throughout downtown Nichol
Nicholasville was founded in 1792 by Nicholas Hardwick. The town was named for General James Wilkinson, who helped lead Kentucky to statehood. In 1825, the population of Nicholasville was 2,500. By 1830, the population had grown to 5,000 and by 1840 it had reached 10,000. The town became a center for shipping and trade during the early 19th century. It also became an important destination for workers in the area because of its good transportation connections and its abundance of resources. The start of the 20th century saw a shift towards manufacturing in Nicholasville. This led to growth in businesses such as Harrods department store and Paine-Lodge hotel. However, during World War IINicholasville experienced significant damage from bombing raids. After the war, however, new businesses began to grow in place of those that were lost in the war.
