Nicholasville is a small town in Pike County, Kentucky, United States. It is the home of the Nicholasville Rifle and Pistol Club, which was founded in 1859. The club's first rifle was a Model 1860 Colt. The club has also restored many old firearms. In 1924, the Nicholasville Gun Show was created to celebrate the town's history and culture with exhibits on local guns, ammunition, and Tiffany-made pistols.

One such nickname is attributed to local resident Samuel Colt who named his new nickel-plated revolver after Nicholasville – Colt's First National Rifle! Today's downtown areas have been rebuilt multiple times thanks to donations from individuals and businesses throughout nickerville. The early 20th century saw the introduction of many different types of firearms hats, including those used by police officers and firefighters. The popularity of these hats led to their inclusion in parade uniforms and other public events throughout America. In 1940, President Franklin D Roosevelt created the National Firearms Act which legalized ownership and carryingof handguns in America. This act also gave permission to manufacturers to create firearm hats that would protect soldiers from the elements while serving in battle or during special operations missions
