In 1875, Nicholasville residents Nicholas and Anna P. Rigdon erected a post office on the east side of Topeka Square. The town was named for Nicholas Rigdon, an early settler in the area. In 1902, the Post Office moved to its present location on Main Street. The first store inNicholasville opened in 1907. In 1927, the old schoolhouse on Wilson Avenue was replaced by a new one that still stands today. By 1948, there were twelve businesses in town and over one hundred people living in Nicholasville. Normalcy returned to Nicholasville during the late 1950s when no businesses closed down but population dwindled as many people left for better opportunities elsewhere. The population peaked at around 1,500 during the early 1960s before slowly declining until it bottomed out at just under 500 in 2000. This decrease is likely due to various reasons such as commuting distance from towns such as Bowling Green or Lexington which have larger populations and greater economic opportunities; recent changes to local zoning laws which makes it difficult for small businesses to remain open; or simply an overall decrease in population throughout Kentucky due to aging demographics and other factors

The bipod-style device is typically wider and taller than the monopod style, which allows it to be attached directly to the rifle's stock with one hand. In World War I, machine guns were initially employed by armies using monopods as mounts. Additionally, many manufacturers offer adapters that allow users to change various attachments such as optics or lasers without having to remove the entire device from their gun.

The city was named after Nicholas Harlan, who donated land to the town. The first settlers in Nicholasville were soldiers from Tennessee who fought in the Mexican-American War. After that war ended, many families decided to move to what is now Hardin County because of its fertile soil and good climate. One of the first businesses established in Nicholasville was a grocery store run by John Salyer. In 1828, residents voted to change their name toNicholasville after General Harlan due to his donation of land for the town. The city has undergone many changes throughout its history including annexation by Louisville in 1915 and then becoming part of Louisville again in 1920; fire damage during World War II; a recession during the 1990s which led to job losses for many local businesses; and growth following Hurricane Katrina when Nicholasville became one of several cities affected by landfalling storms across Louisiana on August 29th, 2005. Today, Nicolasville is an economic center with a diversified economy that includes food processing operations as well as retail stores and services related thereto such as health care providers and construction companies

Nicholasville was born in 1785, the son of Nicholas and Lois (Wright) Nichols. The town was named for General John Knox, who had fought in the French and Indian War. The area that now makes up Nicholasville was first settled by Cherokee Indians in the early 1800s. In 1812, a group of settlers led by Captain James Kays sold land to Colonel George Rogers Clark for $5 per acre. Rogers Clark built a cabin here and called it Nicholasville after his father-in-law, Nicholas Carden. In 1827, Major General Andrew Jackson moved his headquarters from Athens, Georgia to what is now downtown Nicholasville after losing battle against Mexican forces at New Orleans. After the war ended, many settlers came to Nicholasville looking for new opportunities. Some of these pioneers were Elijah Hocking (1810-1892), a businessman who owned a sawmill; John Witherspoon (1786-1868), an attorney and political leader who served as one of the leading Republicans during the Reconstruction era; and William Fenton (1800-1863), an entrepreneur who founded several businesses in eastern Kentucky including Hardee's Coffee House on Main Street and Fenton's Brewery on First Avenue. In 1840, President James Kansa appointed Colonel David Denny as surveyor general for Kentucky with responsibility for developing new lands east of Louisville into which Kentuckians could settle. Denny recommended thatNicholasville be established as one of these settlements because its location would make it easy to trade with other states and its accessibility made it an ideal place to raise livestock and produce crops such as corn, tobacco, peanuts, potatoes etc.The town’s growth continued apace throughout the 1850s when families started moving into what became known as “the Hill Country” west of town along US 21A/SR 15 until all but two blocks between US 21A/SR 15th Street/Old Hickory Road/Brooklyn Road were developed into neighborhoods known today as Northgate Park/Hickory Hills/Biltmore Forest Park/. Construction began on what is now Old Hickory Cemetery in 1857 while water main construction began across Broadway from present day FourthStreet soon thereafter which connected Easton Ave./US 421 with Broadway creating what is today Brookline Drive
Nicholasville was founded in 1798 by Nicholas and his wife Elizabeth. The town was named after Nicholas’s ancestor, John Nicholas. In 1814, the town added a post office and became the county seat of Hardin County. It reverted to its original name in 1851. In 1924, the town annexed part of Ballard County and became known as Nicholasville-Ballard County.
