Nicholasville is located in Wolfe County, Kentucky. It was founded in 1825 by Nicholas Rowe and his family. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Ohio River and its position as an agricultural center. By 1862,Nicholasville had a population of over 5,000 people. In 1875, the town added a school and post office. The town experienced rapid growth during the late 19th century thanks to its natural resources and growing industry. By 1920, Nicholasville had become an important center for glass production in the region.During World War II,Nicholasville was one of several small American towns that were bombed by Japanese forces. Despite this damage,the town continued to grow and prosper during the war years. In 1957, Nicholsville became part of Paducah metropolitan area and has beengrowing ever since.Today,Nicholsville is a vibrant community with a rich history that will continue to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
