Today's residents are mostly farmers who continue to produce food for local Consumption or sale into surrounding towns/cities for those who need it or want it; this is done through a combination of buying from wholesalers when available and growing their own crops when possible using traditional methods like grafting trees into more efficient landscapes or building raised decks over ponds so irrigation can be directed towards entire gardens rather than individual plants

Nicholasville is a town located in Spencer County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 7,542 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Spencer County. Nicholasville was founded by Nicholas and his wife Elizabeth in 1814 as a log cabin community named for their son John Nicholas. The village grew rapidly and by 1825 it had a post office, two stores, four blacksmiths, and ninety-six residents. In 1829 the first courthouse was built and by 1830 there were ten schools in the town. In 1859 Nicholasville became the site of the worlds first railroad junction when the Ohio Central Railroad arrived to provide transportation to Louisville and Nashville. By 1870 Nicholasville had become an important trade center with its own cotton gin, woolen mill, grocery store, insurance company and several churches. At this time it also became home to one of America's largest steamboatsyards where over 1 million pounds of cotton were processed each year. During World War IINicholasville was hit hard by air raids; most notably on March 15th 1945 when three bombs fell just outside of town killing nineteen people including six children under the age of 10. Despite this tragedy many businesses continued to function despite damage from firebombing; nonetheless total loss amounted to $40 million which still stands as one of the worst industrial disasters in American history
Nicholasville was founded in 1795 by Nicholas and his wife, Sally. The town was named after General James Wilkinson, who had been the military governor of Kentucky at the time of its establishment. At first, the town consisted of only a few homes and a small store. But over time, Nicholasville grew into an important community with a large population. In 1815, NicholasVILLE became the capital of Kentucky after it was chartered as such by Governor Andrew Jackson. In 1819, Nicholasville joined the Union side in the American Civil War. After the war ended, most ofNicholsville went back to being an agricultural center with many small businesses operating until World War II when industry began to take hold. In 1945, Nicholsville experienced its largest population growth yet when soldiers from World War II came home and started families here. Today, NicholsVILLE is known for its arts and cultural diversity which has helped make it one of America's most vibrant cities.
