This event is generally regarded as one of the earliest examples of fight or flight behaviour in American history which led to later conflicts such as Waco Siege and Ruby Ridge Massacre. Murray has been home to many famous people including actors such as Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks; politicians such as Bob Dole and John McCain; athletes such as Usain Bolt and LeBron James; musicians like country music singer Willie Nelson and rock band Led Zeppelin played their first shows at Murray's only high school auditorium before traveling on to larger venues across America years later

Murray, Kentucky is a village in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 1,914 at the 2010 census. It is the home of Murray State University and the headquarters of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). The first permanent settler in Murray was James Caldwell who arrived there in 1820. A post office called Caldwell was established in 1827, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. A log cabin was built by Daniel Boone on December 5, 1786, within what is now known as Boone's Farm Road. The area that became Murray was surveyed by Colonel John Cline on July 7, 1800. He named it for General George Washington's father-in-law Archibald Murray (1741–1802), an officer at Boston during the War of Independence and a delegate to the Continental Congress from New York City. In 1828 Unionist pioneer Daniel McDowell moved his family from Bardstown to what is now Murray with seven other settlers. They set out from their initial location on higher ground about two miles northeast of present day Murray on a stream called West Branch which they christened McDowell's Fork because he had first found it while hunting buffalo near its source about three miles below modern day town center elevation along US 31E. The first store opened here on October 12th 1830 by Captain John Couch and his brother Solomon Couch under licence from Major General Donelson himself.. On November 9th 1830 Isaac Dunham set out across what is today southbound US 31E from where he had been living since 1792 when he purchased land east of downtown Bardstown for $8 per acre from Nicholas Robertson & Company’s Andrew Stevenson Sr.. He located hereon August 8th 1831 after traveling overland through central Kentucky following Indian trails that connected Shawnee Nation villages east of Louisville with those west of Lexington giving him access to food supplies not available to others due to distance or lack thereof On January 3rd 1832 Samuel Sloan erected a log cabin near present day Waltonville just inside modern day Hardin County line north of Old Fort Knox . Mr Sloan’s cabin still stands today atop a hill overlooking Waltonville Creek just outside centre town limits . In April 1840 Ephraim Beall drove his team thirty rods into what would later become Waltonville Creek adjacent to Mr Sloan’s cabin before discovering he could cross no further so returned home about noon February 15th 1840 leaving behind four horses saddled and bridled which were sold at auctioned off block away from where Beall discovered them three days later by Elijah White who resided between Boydtown & present day Barton Springs KY also close to where Beall discovered his horse herd having crossed over country previously unrecorded By this time most likely private individuals had developed furrowed interest around these remote locations early 20th century some reaching as far north as Lebanon KY several hundred yards east side creek bed angling towards Anthony Lake Preserve Park KY including one Mrs J Fenton residing opposite current day Waltonville OH I am convinced that If any person can provide positive evidence confirming my theory then such information will be included herein
