He traveled extensively throughout America during this time trying to create change through his policies and speeches. In 1978 LBJ announced his intention to leave office after two terms as president due to health problems

Lyndon was one of the original counties in Kentucky. It was organized on November 3, 1792, and named for General Robert E. Lee, the brother of Confederate general Ulysses S. Grant.
