Despite being founded just two decades prior – NSSF was able to play a significant role in ensuring that individual rights were protected during both World Wars II and later into the 21st century.

In 1785, when James Ketchum purchased land southeast of downtown from David Robertson (founder of Clermont County), he started building a house on what would become W Main Street today. He named his property L'Enfant Plaza after Pierre- Alexandre L’Enfant who designed Paris' École Militaire ( Military Academy) which he opened in 1762
There is a long and varied history of rifle scopes, with different manufacturers and designs available to consumers today. The first scopes designed for rifles were made by Italian optics manufacturer Beretta in the early 1800s. The design was based on the use of a telescope mount that allowed the user to view projectiles Fired from Firearms at close range. These early riflescope models typically used an objective lens (the front element of a telescope) with a focal length (in inches) of around 37mm. The objective lens was also mounted on a tripod, allowing the user to pan and tilt the scope while providing magnification levels up to 30x. This type of rifle scope typically had a focusing system consisting of two turrets located behind the objective lens, which permitted adjustments between 10x and 100x magnification. A number of companies including Weaver and Leupold produced Aftermarket Rifle Scopes during World War II as part of military efforts to improve battlefield accuracy by increasing zoom capabilities. By 1945, there were over 1,000 types of rifle scopes available on the market!
As rifles became more and more popular, Leica began making scopes for them in the early 1900s. One of their earliest products was a rifle scope that featured an objective lens and a twisted eyepiece. It was very similar to today's Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, but it was not available until 1912.

During its early years, Louisville was primarily an agricultural center with crops such as corn, beans and potatoes being grown nearby on large plantations. However, industry soon came to dominate Louisville's economy as well; this included textile manufacturing companies such as Singer Sewing Machine Company (founded 1892)and Wacoal Rubber Company (founded 1938). By 1920s oil production had come to prominence in Kentucky thanks to hydraulic fracturing techniques used in oil shale drilling; this led to increased investment in industrial areas such as pharmaceuticals production at Parkland Hospital and automotive manufacturing at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company before moving into skyscraper construction during the late 20th century
