The history of ammunition in Independence, Kentucky is a long and varied one. Ammunition was first developed in the early 1800s for cannons used by the British military. After independence was gained from Great Britain, settlers in Independence began to use artillery as their primary form of warfare. Ammunition manufacturers soon arose in Independence, and over time, they have become some of the most important businesses in the town. One of the earliest manufacturers of ammunition in Independence was Green & White Arms Company. The company was founded by two brothers, Samuel Green and Edwin White. They started producing ammunition for handguns in 1825. Throughout its years of operation, Green & White Arms Company has produced a wide variety of firearms cartridges including those used by Americans during the Revolutionary War and subsequent wars. After independence was gained from France, many French-owned companies began production within Patriotismately-controlled Kentucky. One such company was La Fayette Arsenal Company which operated out of what is now downtown Lexington. This company produced a wide range of munitions including artillery shells, rifle bullets, pistols and rifles. La Fayette Arsenal also manufactured grenades and mortar rounds throughout its years production. In 1892, John Browning established his own manufacturing company in Springfield Armory outside Louisville Ky., which became known as America's oldest continuously operating arms manufacturer ever! Browning continued to produce high quality firearms products until his death in 1934 (at age 96). Today Browning Firearms manufactures components needed to build nearly every type of gun you can imagine; bows (including crossbows), shotguns, rifles and handguns!

In 1792, the first permanent white settlement in Kentucky was established by theen colonists from Rhode Island. The land that became Kentucky was part of England until 1775, when it became an American province under the Treaty of Paris following the French and Indian War. In 1800, Kentucky became a state when James K. Polk was elected president and Andrew Johnson as vice president. In 1907, Kentucky adopted a new Constitution providing for equal protection under the law for all citizens regardless of race or color. The history of Independence is complex but illustrative nonetheless. As early as 1679, there were people living in what is now Jefferson County on both sides of the Ohio River. By 1792, however, only men were living in what is now Highland County because English settlers had not yet arrived to settle there permanently. In addition to English settlers arriving later in this period (1799-1812), Welsh and Scottish Presbyterians also came to KY during this time period. There are several reasons why independence from Great Britain may have been considered a desirable goal at this time: 1) The British government had been oppressive and repressive; many European immigrants who had settled in America since 1492 were fearful that their rights would be taken away if they did not submit to British rule. 2) The Revolutionary War had ended with George Washington’s victory over King George III; many Americans believed that their country should be reconstructed along similar lines as England – free from monarchy, aristocracy and religious intolerance – which would promote democracy throughout the continent and beyond (this ideal eventually led to America’s political system). 3) There was increasing trade between British colonies on the East Coast and America due largely to Navigation Acts passed by Parliament authorising certain types of shipping routes between North America and Europe (the Acts allowed more commerce to flow through British waters while allowing France greater access to resources in our region).

Ammunition has a long and varied history, dating back to the ancient Greeks. Ammunition is an important part of warfare because it can kill or injure enemies with varying levels of accuracy. The Romans were one of the first civilizations to develop firearms, and ammunition played a significant role in their military campaigns. Ammunition also played a large role in early American history, as well as in many other cultures around the world. Ammunition has been used for centuries to kill people and animals, and today it remains an important part of war arsenal.

The first ammunition was created by the ancient Egyptians in about 2900 BC. The Chinese were also responsible for developing early fire arms, including firearms and crossbows.

The history of Independence, Kentucky begins with the arrival of white settlers in the area in the early 1800s. The first European to visit what is now Independence was a French trader, Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne, during the 17th century. In 1801, Kentucky became a state when it was created from parts of Tennessee and Virginia. The land that nowinclude Independence was purchased by John Overstreet in 1802 and named for him. In 1830, President Andrew Jackson moved his residence from Jacksonville, Mississippi to Nashville after taking office as president. He requested that Kentucky be added to his state because he felt its industrial development would helpural growth throughout the country. On January 6, 1831, Governor James K. Polk certified that petitions had been received from both Tennessee and Kentucky asking for their admission as states within the Union. The news caused an uproar among some citizens of Tennessee because they saw themselves as being left out of Group II while their brothers and sisters in Kentucky were accepted into Group I; but it also generated enthusiasm among many people in Lexington and other rural areas who wanted to become part of what would soon become a powerful nation. On February 14, 1831, Kansas Territory was organized by Congress following its passage through which territory had been divided between Missouri (in eastern Missouri) and Texas (in western Texas). This act placed Kansas on an equal footing with neighboring Nebraska Territory with respect to voting rights and other civil liberties enjoyed by other territories at this time including Oregon (the first U.S.-Canadian province), Nevada (the former Mexican district west of Mexico City), Arizona Territory (later renamed California), New Mexico Territory (later renamed Arizona), Utah Territorial District No 1 (later rename Utah Territorial District No 2), Colorado Territories No 1-3 (later named Colorado Rockies), Oklahoma Territories No 1-3 (later renamedOklahoma Panhandle), Wyoming Territorial District No 3) In 1861 when Confederate General Robert Ewell invaded Knox County west of Louisville seeking support against Union forces he encountered resistance from local militia units led by Colonel Nathaniel Lyon who thwarted his attempt to cross over into Indiana County before reaching Westminster Abbey where he hoped to gain intelligence about Union operations before surrendering near Edwardsville outside Louisville on December 15Footnote 1 At this point much attention was focused on Fort Donelson in central Knox County where Confederate Major General Jubal Early had made his headquarters since late November 1862Footnote 2 Aftermath: As skirmishes raged around fortifications surrounding Knox County most residents chose not to resist Ewell beyond providing basic supplies like food and water There were reports indicting Lyon/Lyon’s unit for atrocities such as burning homes without warning inhabitants or torturing prisoners although no prosecutions took place Citation: “Independence History Timeline” National Park Service website http://www2.nps.gov/history/pages/timeline_independence_kentucky_.aspx accessed October 9th 2016
