It is now used as an event hall for local social events and is also home to The Old Timer Museum which tells the story of Henderson Rifle Range from its inception through today.

The first post office in Henderson was established on December 10, 1811, by General David Wilkinson. The town has been through many changes over its history. Streets ran east-west and were one block wide with a three-block gap between them; this system allowed for easy trade between the different parts of the town. However, as time passed and industry began to grow in the area around Henderson, street widths became narrower and gaps became more common; this caused problems for merchants because they could not easily transport goods from one side of the town to another without having to go down two blocks or more). In 1840, when Henderson incorporated as a city, it had only 5 residents. By 1860 it had grown to 30 residents and by 1870 had reached 100 residents due in part to new technologies being developed in nearby Lexington (then known as "the Metropolis"). At this point things started to change again for Henderson – although some aspects remain much the same today such as its strong economy (it is home to several large companies including Amazoncom), there has also been significant growth inresidential real estate development throughout downtown which has led to increased traffic congestion on main streets during peak hours outside of business hours (although recent construction projects have helped improve traffic flow). One long-standing issue plaguing Henderson is its high number of boarded up homes – largely due to Prohibition efforts which resulted in an increase in criminal activity within the community during prohibition years (although recently some measures have been put into place aimed at reversing these trends).
Henderson was first settled in 1790. It became a town in 1825 and was named for Henderson County, Kentucky, the original home of the family. Henderson post office was established in 1826. The town grew rapidly after it was incorporated as a city in 1881. Henderson is the seat of Clark County and has a population of 69,611 as of 2010.
